    Hey,

I just bought the game on Steam but sadly it does not work. From the moment i press "generate game" in the lobby the game sadly freezes. Does someone know how to fix this? :(

I just tried it again and first there was a red dot, the dot turned yellow and when the dot turns green the game crashes.

I uploaded as a file my Dxdiag. :)

You need to update your gpu driver. The one you have is over 2 years old. Hopefully that fixes it.

The sad thing is, it's not possible. My pc is a HP Pavilion and HP has their own version of the AMD Radeon HD 7450. This means the official driver does not work and only the special one of HP works. Sadly, HP has quit for like 2 years updating the GPU.

There is always way to install generic drivers, you just have to find it.

I have emailed with HP about it and the only solution would be buying a new GPU to get the latest driver. It's quite weird that it does not want to work for PA as my GPU still works for any game i play atm. :(

But it seems that when i put it on medium it crashes. :s I'm sure my pc should be able to run the game at medium as i can run all other games also like Skyrim etc.

As i said, working the HP driver does not work. I have done the steps as described in the link but it only gave an error saying i don't have an AMD gpu.

I can say that on 10 January i'm getting a new pc with a GTX 770. I guess i just have to wait until 10 January then?

Well as you said you can play it now on low so it is not so bad.

It's up to you. I just saying that your graphics card will work with generic drivers just fine.

Or it just does not install with saying i have no AMD gpu or it is already installed and up to date.

Did you tried to remove existing drivers (AMD Catalyst though Windows Control Panel) and then make clean installation of latest drivers?

I did some months ago together with HP Experts and things only got worse. When the HP Driver is still installed it says everything is instaleld and up to date. When not installed it gives the error of no real AMD Gpu found or installed.

Then i had to go back to the servers of HP to find the original CCC driver delivered with my HP pc. :p

    EDIT:

I also have some troubles with the HTML5 client of RuneScape 3 as it is using new technologies delivered in drivers only recently, as Mod Chris E said i believe. So i guess Planetary Annihilation has the same issue than the HTML5 client which is on HP's side.

Thanks anyway, i guess i'll be fine with the low settings until 10 January or try to experiment which setting is making the crash. If i can find this (so having higher graphics with the evil thing turned of, i report it here to you guys! :) )

As all my suggestions are, this one is highly questionable. I am always full of questionable yet functional ideas.

There might be a generic custom driver for you there. You would need to do what you described before. At least a few people said they installed the driver and it worked and solved their problem. Not for this particular game, but that's why it is up to you to consider whether or not to try it. If you are computer savvy, you should be able to keep a copy of your old driver download on your computer, and try this new one, and just revert back if things go south.

I would actually say, from what I hear, 13.10 actually usually always works on HP Pavillions (with clean install, and always does not without clean installs). So make sure to let us know if you decide to try it or not, and if you do try it if it works or if you had to revert to last released HP custom driver.
