Now I just want to say, I understand the game is in beta, performance is going to improve, etc. etc. All I'm trying to figure out here is what the current expected performance is.

Now the ingame performance I'm seeing seems to indicate massive UI lag. It can take seconds for buttons to display their popups or be selected, to select units, issue unit orders etc. Is this what everyone is experiencing (and how are you coping with it if you are?) or is this just my computer flaking out and I need to look into adjusting settings of some sort on my end?

What are your computer specs? "Massive UI lag" sounds like nothing I have experienced.

    3570k @ 4.4GHz
    16GB of RAM
    SLI GTX Titan

I don't believe it to be a client side resource problem, but then maybe this game really is that resource intensive? I haven't really noticed a big difference in performance changes from Low to High though, they all seem to suffer from UI lag.

Yeah... :D wow. Obviously it shouldn't lag with specs like that. Are you playing systems with planets less in radius than, say, 1000? And < 8 planets? Though this sounds like a bug specific to SLI Titan maybe.

PA has no optimizations done for SLI or Crossfire at this point, somewhere even is a thread of somebody else stating "I have 2 Titans, why do I have 1fps?".

So yeah timevans999 is completely right: Turn of SLI, it hurts you. Bad.

Yep. Turn off SLI and your problem will most likely disappear. They have stated a few times, that SLI support will probably be added down the road.
