its been a while since the steam verison released and i havent gotten any keys or such yet, just curious. im a beta level backer
Click on your key here: https://store.uberent.com/Account/MyKeys Then use "Convert to Steam" button. But this is one way operation that can't be reverted. Also Uber launcher won't work for you until you play though Steam at least once.
You could play on Uber launcher once. Then get your steam key, to make sure it works. Either way, by end of it you will have access to both.
If someone wouldn't mind clarifying this Steam issue for me - why would I not want to convert my key to Steam? If I can convert to Steam (and run it via Steam at least once), AND still run a non-Steam DRM free copy that I download from Uber, is there any downside to converting? There seems to be something about this that I'm not getting.
There is no downside. A purchased copy is playable from any source via the one account you access it from. That is, once activated via accessing it with your account once. After that, the account works on ubernet, and the steam download key can be used and signed in with same account. As far as drm, so far it is beta and only client side is downloadable, so you need internet to connect to a hosted game. After release, yes, no drm.
That's great then. Time to convert! Thanks for the help. (also, nice to see PA lingering around in the top 20 on the Steam sale)
Then why is there such a big deal over "once you convert to Steam this is non-reversible", doesn't it just allow you to log in through Steam as well? What is there to revert?
Because you can Chat with your Friends easily in the game and you has a time counter and better updates in my opinion, faster and easier; nothing else
