Dumb. I understand now why that didn't happen.

    Version 3.0.3 released!
This is a big update to accomodate the new modding system. Because this no longer uses the existing mods folder, it will not detect any existing mods you have. For this reason, I have not made v2.0.2 auto-update to v3.0.3 - it must be installed manually via the link on the first post.

    What's new:
    • Rewrite to accommodate new modding system
    • Can now be installed anywhere; will attempt to auto-detect PA install location
    • Feature: Asynchronous downloading of data
    • Feature: Additional UI info for mod dependencies
    • Feature: Auto Downloading/installing of dependencies
    • Feature: Mod Uninstalling Feature: Mod Updating from Installed Mods list
    • Feature: Re-shuffle button while sorting randomly
    • Feature: Indicator for newly updated mods (within 7 days)
    • Feature: New filter: Newly Updated
    • Feature: Ability to reinstall mods
    • Bugfix: News links now use default browser

It's no longer detecting the Steam installation directory, either during install and when you run it.

This is becoming pretty awesome though, it just needs to have a launch format I can pin to my taskbar!

Is there documentation about modinfo.json - for example what fields are supported, their purpose, allowed parameters and whether they are required or optional?

    Err..

    My Steam directory is this:
    D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Planetary Annihilation\Pa.exe

    It detected this:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Planetary Annihilation\PA\PA.exe

and said that this was invalid:
    D:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Planetary Annihilation\

Also, I can't install any mods using it, on Steam version? It just fails to install or download. The uber symbol does stuff, but it doesn't do anything more.. Think this is an issue with the Bitdefender thing. Can you please just open a support ticket?

    Ok.

I'm having an issue too where it won't download and install mods when I tell it to :(

EDIT: I spammed F5 on the available mods page, then installed mods.

Spamming F5 solves all my problems. Why is this?

If you received an error, it can stop further processing of scripts. F5 re-loads the entire app (since it's HTML/javascript based), allowing the scripts to run again. I need to put in some more error checking so that the native error messages don't appear.

With the steam detection, it simply tries "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Planetary Annihilation\PA\PA.exe" as a default, and if it can't find it there then it prompts for the location. I'll have to look into why it wasn't accepting your location.

I think it did accept the location. There wasn't an error per sey.

Basically to install mods, I have to click install, then hit F5 for the mod to actually download, then hit f5 for the display to update.

Where does it actually install the mods :)? I can't find them on my computer.

If the input box disappears when you click OK, then it's accepted the location. If not, it will pop up again, unless you click Cancel. If you click cancel though, the "Launch PA" button should be greyed out.

After you click install for the first time, is there any error? Do you see the loading animation in the bottom right? Keep in mind downloading is now done asynchronously (in the background) rather than pausing PAMM, so it make take a few seconds (depending on internet connection) before you see it appear in the list.

    Mods now live in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\mods\
    PAMM's cache is in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation\pamm_cache\

    What input box?

    Edit: There is no error

There is loading animation. And it does download.

Except Team Build Colours. That doesn't download at all.

Edit: I click it. There is loading animation. The loading animation stops.

    And it didn't download.

    Well, I looked for it.

    Couldn't find the file.

So there's no way to delete it, because it never downloaded. If you click install, it comes up with animation, and you can't click install again, but it doesn't actually install or download as far as I can tell.

I think the problem is probably PAMM, and Bitdefender

Looks like a problem specifically with that mod's entry, the URL for the mod returns a 404 error.
