Reverse Majority Selection Priority

    Apparently uber changed the selection mechanics so that whatever has the highest unit count between workers or military units is the one selected. Can we change it back to how it was please? To where military units ALWAYS have priority for selection over fabricators and commander.

    I thought something was going screwy as all my fabricators in my base kept deciding to meet up at an arbitrary location, and i was pretty sure they were not meeting for a party!

    I wish there were smaller parameters or hotkeys to divide up which you wanted...

    ...but that is because sometimes I legitimately want a group of fabbers and combat units both to be in a group. Currently I just have fabbers assist across them, sometimes intentionally to follow up that way in combat, other times just to follow BECAUSE I cant click them together.

    Maybe one day, we can have one key hold while selecting, you get fabbers, the other key hold while selecting, you get fighters. Or, depending on majority use not being in favor of what I use, make fighters be default and you must hold a button for fabbers and another button for both.

    I can't click like on this enough times. If they added this, I would immediately bind those hotkeys to my mouse. We probably only need one hotkey; select normally to get combat units, select with the hotkey to get fabbers.

    ...and then if you want both, highlight one, then shift highlight the other using the specific key.

    ...if only that key existed in the first place...

    Oh, so you're saying that selecting without any key should select everything? It is probably the most complete solution, but is it really practical that 9 out of 10 times you're going to be pressing a key just to select units? I would prefer the default mode to be combat select, but as usual with this sort of thing I won't complain if I have the option to set it up however I want.

    I support going back to "smart selection" which is the mechanism used by every other RTS ever and is the right way to operate inn 99% of selection cases.

    If you mean fighters being selected, then that is fine.

    If there were fighters selected by default, that would make the most people happy from what I understand, which is the way to go.

    If there were a hotkey to hold and select, to select fabbers instead, that would allow separating fabbers from a group of fighters, and selecting a group of both by selecting one and shift-selecting the other.

    But without complicating this further, I can understand re-prioritizing fighters.

    We need hotkeys to switch the meaning I think, with the default on fighthing units.
    The current behavior feels so bad to me it might be a bug. It took me a while to realize that there was a system to it and it was not just random, because who counts how much stuff is in the selection box before releasing the mouse button?!

    yea I agree this needs to change or at least have an option to pick how u want it to be... thought this was a bug at first too lol
