I plan on streaming PA once it becomes more playable. I also need to upgrade my computer. Right now it's using a GTX 460 and a Phenom 960T. While streaming I noticed that my CPU is bottlenecking. Also, I noticed that my in-game fps didn't really struggle, while the stream was at 360p and would stutter. Anyone else? Thoughts?
I guess what I want to know is what kind of hardware do I need to maximize my ability to comfortably stream. Because with fraps, my video card is the bottle neck. I haven't tried OBS. Also I want to know how much more we can expand the feature. If we can use webcams, or stream our video out instead of just the PA window. Also, I'm not sure about the differences between twitch and justin, but I can only stream to justin.tv.
Hm... I just got a notification from Twitch that a broadcast was ready to edit. Looks like my broadcast was recorded and uploaded. It has no video, and no audio from what I can see.
Ok. Can I ask - does this stream directly from the server to twitch, or directly from us to twitch? In terms of performance, how does it compare to just using a program to save a video?
It has to be directly from the player to twitch, because it sees the screen position and local audio input. It is also hard to compare to saving the video, because twitch streaming has the benefit of being live.
