In the games I played I seen a fair share of Levelers and some Arti-Vehicles (which probably suck since Pelters outrange them).
What I dint see in any numbers where T2 Bots (other than Fabs), and I guess thats because they are to damn fragile for their price. Are there any uses for them?

Not really, levellers are so much more powerful and t2 bots lose to t1 tanks quite easily.

Very niche uses for surprise sniping very isolated commanders or raiding on really large planets.

Would be neat if they got specialised for say, air transport drops on bases. In groups of 10 or 12 to take out specific structures.

Compared to the overall power of levellers.

    Why bother specialising.

I don't use them as much anymore with the leading addition.

I used to use them a lot.

They can be very powerful. A group of flanking Slammers can do a lot of damage.

I wish I could use the Arty bots. Their range isn't as good as Shellers and their fire rate is really slow. They have the potential to be a very good unit. Move in quickly and fire off a bunch of artillery shots and blow up key structures or a defensive line and then quickly move out with the superior bot speed.

Good point. Bots will probably be more useful when air transports come into play. The high speed plus transports would make them even more efficient raiding and flanking units.

I do like T2 bots. I have used them in some games and was quite surprised to see how "tanky" they are for a bot. I mean they can take a few hits unlike the T1 that just dies to anything looking at it funny.

Slammers work very well when backed up with some Levelers. A good 3-1 ratio of Slammer to Leveler works wonder when driving at an enemy line.

you can use them to attack long range Targets, when they have better speed... but for a direct combat, w/ turrets, a lot of tanks, pelters, and things like that, you should not use them.

Levellers one-hit Slammers, IIRC, and they definitely outrange them. Slammers are useless by comparison ATM.

I actually use them a lot. They are my main armed force in most of my games. A group of 10 T2 with 30-40 T1 is really dangerous. They move fast, a lot more than tanks, with them you can crush the economy of your opponent really fast. And for the main base the T1 take the hits while the T2 get in range to do the damages.
I rarely use leveler on a normal game (<25 minutes). On a fair fight the bots don't stand a chance against them but it's not their purpose. How many times i've send my bots in the ennemy base and made them just avoid the ennemy tanks while they where destroying everything at range...
You can also easily send a wave every 1-2 minutes as soon as you have your T2 fac because of the very short time they need to reach their objective. It can be enough to take the advantage. Tanks need a more long term planification and give your opponent a lot more time to react/adjust.
They are also way more effective to take out pelters if bombers are not an option. Tanks take too much time to get in range.
Another great bonus is that you get T2 fab bot instead of T2 fabbers, which is far better to get a good amount of T2 extractors fast and fortify your "assault factory" nicely if needed.
The only flaw is that they need a bit more micro than tanks to be used well.

I figure the transport role would work because from time to time the ai pulls off a sneaky move and sends like 8 of them into my base to hit my nukes. Would find a little crack in the defense and waltz right in. In the short amount of time they lived they managed to do a good deal of damage. This would be ideal for taking out an anti nuke structure right before a strategic strike.

Except Slammers easily outrun levelers and ants. So with the right micro, you can just run away from the defending force and cause a helluva lot of damage.

t2 bots do the same job t1 bots do, just a little better: Raiding and (in massive numbers) great against pure levelers. Any ants and they lose.

But that pretty much means the cost of a T2 bot factory aint worth it, if t1 will do the same.

I wouldn't use them. For raiding you'll still have groups of doxs which you should still be producing from an early factory, there's no real need for slammers, you're better investing that eco in levellers. By that point of the game if you need that kind of firepower for raiding, you're better off just nuking the place or rolling in with your army, and as the game goes on the number of raidable locations decreases.

I sometimes use t2 arty bots against ant swarms as 10-20 can rip up hundreds of ants without taking any damage (provided you micro a bit). However, by the time you have T2 then your enemy isn't far behind and against levellers they just really don't pack enough firepower and range.
Still love dem t2 arty bots though, probably my favourite unit in the game atm (for how it feels rather than how effective it is). Plus they're cute.

Slammers have more hp and dps for the cost. So for the metal investment, a Slammer is better than a Dox. It's simply a matter of whether the Bot Factory is enough of an investment.

Nukes aren't good for raiding. And neither really is your main army. Having multiple forces all over the map is the best way to keep your opponent scrambling. Bots are perfect for raiding metal spots and keeping your opponent scrambling. And then Slammers are great for punching through defenses at the outlying metal spots.

The Stompers are indeed a great unit when microed properly. Fast with long range. Just wish the range was a little longer and they did less damage per shot and more shots per second.

But the purpose of the raid is to remove their economy, they're responding to protect it. So just nuke the economy at the back and then roll in through the front. Or nuke the army at the front and roll in unopposed to the back.

You'd have to do some serious, serious damage to justify a slammer raid.

Yeah, the problem with them at the moment is that they have to be very carefully microed to be effective, and you often don't have time late game to micro small groups carefully. An increase in range would be the best fix in my opinion, but I'm sure they'll be looked at when everything's eventually balanced.

Nukes do solve every problem, theoretically, but so do moon drops.

Slammers d0 a fair job of continuing the Dox's role of fast raiding when T2 comes into play. Specialization may come with future units, with tradeoffs to account for their specialty. The Slammer should ideally remain useful.
