I present unto you the Zaphod translation guide: Scamper = Dox Mining laser = Laser satellite Pelter = Pelter/Holkins Orange = Yellow Moon = Lava planet Nearest = Not nearest Black = Any colour
I like how orange defeat themselves at the end with negativity. Also, I'm mystified as to why purple wasn't just spamming air fighters right near the end. The orbital game was irrelevant because with fighters nearby the commander could never get picked up. Just spam some tier 1 fighters and bots and go win, all that orbital was a total waste because the orbital game was over.
I think Zaphod guessed that one right. We didn't have any idea where they were. Actually, I can't speak for OrbNet but I didn't even know their commander was on the planet. I thought they had sent everything to the moon planet. This game definitely wasn't over.
Well they only had units and zero eco or intel. They were fumbling around in the dark trying to work out where a commander could be with an outside chance of stumbling into them using vision from an advanced sat and then pulling off a laser snipe without the commander moving out of the way. Playing unfinished orbital games can be pretty frustrating in a long game like that.
Yeah, neither team was operating with full knowledge of the game at that point. I'm not saying it would have been easy for them, just possible. On top of all that, OrbNet, who was doing most of the work, was going to be leaving in about a minute and I would have been left controlling the whole team. I can't wait for orbital to start working well enough for this kind of game to happen routinely. The idea of commanders hopping around making and destroying bases until there are no more planets left is exactly what PA is about.
This should be interesting. EDIT: Hey, it was lol. Looked like every team game I have ever had on a small map
I think that Zaphod's reference to "mining laser" comes from the 2009 Star Trek movie. The Romulans (Nero) used a laser drill from their mining ship to blow up planets. I've included the pics here. At least that's the image that I have in my head when he uses that term.
I think it's a shame that the mining laser doesn't "glass" planets. I thought it came from Lego Rock Raiders.
That match was proof positive of the power of a nuclear weapon. Literally all you had was a nuke and an overly aggressive cumsume LOL
So Zaphod is either going to have a punch up with Cumsume or a makeout session. I'm not sure which. I think Cumsume is getting closer to maniacal laughter though. Run, bitches. Ahahah. BOOM! MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA! Incidentally, you tell Jimmiefan that bot engineers are more efficient, but he's looking to grab some existing engineers and I believe that vehicle and bot engineers are identical in build efficiency, it's only initial cost where they differ. It's good to see everyone on Zaphod's team is as terrible as him when it comes to checking corner UI displays. No one thinks to use the name display to figure out whether the nuke killed off black's commanders It was an epic nuke though.
They have the same build efficiency, but you can get 5 bot engineers for the cost of 4 vehicle engineers, so if you want pure build power you should never choose vehicle engineers. So if you're using current engineers it's fine but if you're looking to get more build power then build bot factorys. Yeah noticed that when I watched it back, it's something I really need to be aware of because it is useful intel I constantly wish I had noticed. I need a big popup that says "Black has been ANNIHILATED!".
Sure, but his question was around whether anyone had engineers he could use, so he was looking for existing ones rather than building new ones.
