The unit cannon should be able to be placed on large planets, but the energy cost for firing it should be much higher than when you use it from a smaller planet. This can help balance out the fact that players controlling the larger planet generally have more metal and can spread out more to defend against nukes. Players controlling smaller planets get cheaper transportation and less area they need to cover with pelters and catapults.

Obviously, the player with more metal will win if you give them enough time. It will take some work to figure out just how much more energy it will cost for the unit cannon to fire from a large planet, so that players have a larger window of time to assault it if they are falling behind a little in their economy.

Horrible and easy solution = orbital ballistic missiles or smaller KEWs, like a telephone pole. (This isn't a real suggestion. This would ruin the game)

How about we just make the Astraeus carry up to 5 units and be cheaper so you can send 3 or 4 of them at once? Or if it can only carry one unit make the Astraeus so cheap you can build and send heaps of them at once.

You would fire an interplanetary nuke or two to clear some space and then send a swarm of Astraeus to form a beach head.

Id like the Astraeus to be unable to leave the atmosphere, but be able to be loaded onto a rocket with cargo for a one shot travel to another surface.

    I agree with this one.

The Astreus is built on the orbital launcher, and when it is built, a unit hops in, the rocket launches and goes to another planet – like in the trailer. Then in order to have the Astreus leave orbit again (except maybe on really small moons) it must be put into an Orbital Launcher again. You can re-use the Astreus again to cut back on metal costs, but a new rocket must be built.

Right now, as we've seen from one of ZaphodX's latest videos, it's incredibly easy to build one Astreus, and gain control of all the moons within... 3 or so minutes. This means first person to build an Astreus pretty much controls all the moons. No bueno.

PA CANNOT be about "first one to build X wins."

Unless that X is an asteroid fleet that is :p

An interesting idea I just had is, why not let a orbitless Astreus be build able from an air factory to duel serve as a traditional air transport/interplanetary capsule?

Because we do need a air transport vtol, and such a craft kinda fits the bill.

They are working on a single unit transport.

I'm really like the egg and anti-art unit ideas. Very interesting post.

Reducing metal spots on the asteroids and smaller moons would help. That way players are forced into confrontations on the larger planets. If your beaten off a large planet you wouldn't have the resources to put up much of a defence.

More units and options are definitely required though
