Hello, i dont really have a bug but my computer performance for the game gets rather choppy when things get going on the lowest settings. i was wondering if im due for a graphics driver update and if so were i could do this? im on a macbook air and my graphics is an - intel hd graphics 4000 384 mb. thanks in advance.
you need to set your desktop resolution to 1280x720 or something lower than standard resolution before playing the game. the game doesn't resize the desktop. best performance is from desktop resolution close to 1280x720 <-- no lower than this or some menus do not work properly.... Let me know if that helps.. It's odd but you manually need to set desktop to lower a resolution to get the game to run at lower resolution.
That works even better if you lower desktop resolution first.. I play at 1280x720 desktop resolution with in game resolution scaling at -50% That is a lower in game resolution than playing at 1920x1080 at -50% At 1920x1080 desktop resolution with in game resolution set to -50% i get 12.6 fps At 1280x720 desktop resolution with in game resolution set to -50% i get over 35 fps
I would also like to state that when gaming on an Intel HD 4000 series chipset it's recommended that you play games @ 1280x720. That is the resolution the GPU is tuned for, and also set in game setting's on almost all games to medium. That tends to yield best result's.. I have an Intel HD 4000 chipset too on an Intel i5 1.7ghz CPU. I set these games to these settings and they run very well. Flatout 2, 1280x720 everything on max no anti-aliasing, post processing on.. 35-60 FPS all tracks.. Dead Island and Dead Island riptide, 1280x720 all settings meduim. 20-28fps some times with 5-6 zombies 18fps. Portal 2, 1280x720 all setting medium to high, 60fps constant. Skyrim also runs nicely at 1280x720 with settings on medium some on low 20-29fps Planetary Annihilation Settings Desktop set to 1280x720 in advance!! In game settings... Virtual Texturing : Medium Headlights : Medium, Shadows : Low HDR : On or OFF fps difference at 1280x720 is minimal Anti-Aliasing : NOOOOO < -- no no no no ... lol .. no Resolution : -50 or -75 . both are good , i prefer -50 for the extra fps boost That's it i start with close to 30fps and at end of game with 100's of units and building everywhere it goes down to around 16fps maybe depending on the planet and action happening and how close im zoomed.

i think performance has dropped a little on intel chipsets but not much since v.54xxx. But overall game is improving. I cant wait to see the new improved graphics stack varrak is working on. I think we already have part of it but i think lots more will be done after new camera is implemented.
