City's on earth planets ??

Do you think City's and houses should be added to Earth planet's ? (First post for an Example)

    Sorry it's in "Black and White" it's a first draft concept picture..

    Maybe if Uber are thinking or redoing Earth planets to make them more distinctive from the Tropical and Desert planets they could add cities.
    If the earth planets "Temp" is set around 40-50 in then system editor maybe it could replace the jungle with some cities and houses..
    Above 50 in "Temp" on an earth planet makes it all jungle like it is now..

    What do you guys think ??

    I really like the idea of abandoned cities and ruins on planets. Just adds that nice ambient feel to it.

    Maybe i should add a concept for adding Ruins and Pyramid's to the tropical planet..

    City's on the earth planet .. Ruin's and pyramid's on the tropical one,

    Then they would be aesthetically different from each other even more, at the moment both feel very similar.

    This is a nice Concept! Because in the kickstarter Trailer they Said: " the Age of humanity has long passed". So this would be cool if they make some abadoned city's.

    I think it'd be a pretty fun biome addition. The buildings would make combat difficult until they're eventually destroyed. You could maybe even have the taller buildings fall and crush units.

    Either way, this should be added later after release.

    Uber has enough on their plate.

    I don't know if it would look good. Trees are quite small in this game, the houses would have to be so tiny. And planets are quite small, so you could also end up with houses that are relatively huge compared to the planet, making it not very earth-like.

    I'm pretty sure in the last live stream jon stated they may be redoing the earth planets to make them look better.
    If they do why not add some brushes like my examples, simple groups of buildings with a + shape road in middle so units won't get stuck, only have the city's here and there,, not plastered all over the planet like trees are..

    Ooh. But think about a city biome planet....

    That'd make for some very interesting gameplay!

    I'm already half way to making it a mod .. lol
    i have the buildings just need to texture them, i want to make the tall building's glass skyscrapers with grey roofs, and the house's similar colors to the theme of the landscape, brown roof on houses maybe, light brown/red brick colored walls.

    Reclaimable building would be cool too, houses worth 15-25 metal , skyscraper's could be worth 500 metal but have it take ages to reclaim them.

    In TA cities were the best wreckage. They were made for metal storage, because one skyscraper was more metal than a commander could hold at once.

    As far as I know, metal storage wasn't used competitively outside of wreckage storage.

    Also, I want torn-ruined cities, not vibrant new ones. My robots might accidentally step on a highly evolved monkey. Wouldn't want that on my hard drive.

    it was a fast throw together job to give a basic visual idea of my first post.

    If i was to make this a proper mod i would put a bit more effort into the buildings. :)

    it's hard to explain if your not a modder, but you can configure that idea in the planet.json (the file that define's planets model's/brushes).

    If i make it a mod it will only appear if generated planet has "Temp" between 40 and 50 and it will be where jungle/trees currently are, or between trees and mountains.
    The biomes are generated on the earth planet based on temp, distance from water and height ..
    the right combo of the sliders changes planets lots..
    so cites may only show up on big planets with enough room for them if i make mod correctly.
    I'm having trouble getting my models to load in game properly. but hopefully i will work it out and i will have in game screenshot's for everyone :)
    (screenshot's will be in system editor, only place modder can load custom planets during beta)
