Yeah well. I think this is one of those times where balance has to be done once the unit roster is fleshed out entirely I personally love these moments of confusion in Zaphod's videos. It shows how much you miss when you're playing the game vs watching it. My favourite moment? 49:40 Is my commander looking safe? I guess so? Meanwhile, the commander is 12350/12500 health because @zaphodx 's own orbitals are busy sniping his commander.
Technically you are unable to detect orbital units until you have orbital radar. Thus, you could have a scout flying over that orbital launcher and not see what is being built (I know, weird right?). THat radar will actually give you the exact location of the enemies base BECAUSE you can literally see the unit being built in midair, even if you havent scouted it yet. Useful for snipes and nuke strikes
I hadn't scouted him and was already in confrontations with players I considered a threat. You never want to get into fights with multiple players!
HAHA I thought the same, when Zaphod sent a big blob of units and two nukes right at the end to finish Garat off. Maybe he didn't want the livestream to end just yet
I love how you can hear how excited Zaphod is. I think his hands were shaking from the adrenaline. It was interesting watching it from your POV, from the stream I had thought you were far more dominant than you actually were. Shame blue rushed you like that because after that you really started rolling Also enjoying your little plays with cutting in the streams.
. Anyone who thinks the PA isnt already awesome needs to watch this. So much going on with so many players and the visuals are amazing. Clearly Zaphod is a top level player, but I am sure there are even better players (no offense to ZX). To me it highlights the need for both a ranked ladder and sharing of replays. Really good players can show where the flaws in a game are.
The lesson of this cast: spherical maps rock. Orbital radar is still totally OP. I think the game was pretty much decided by it because suddenly one team knows everything, they know who to go after, they know where to go after them, and they do all of this with a near risk free unit. Meanwhile their main competition is nuking the wrong people because they don't have godlike vision, which if they did they'd have known that not only were they nuking the wrong people, but their biggest threat had 90% of its economy in tiny nukable space. I hope orbital radar changes because its arrival removes FOW as a factor from the game, and I don't find that a change for the better.
I know what you're saying, but it does cost 2.5 nukes worth of metal which would give you a lot of destruction for the cost. A reduced FoV but still large radar coverage would make things more interesting.
I'd like that, as you'd have to move it closer/above an enemy occupied area to see what's going on, risking losing it in the process if they have umbrellas or avengers.
I have a suggestion: I think you should hide unit icons when your camera is zoomed in and can clearly distinguish units. Match casts are an entertainment show and keeping the icons over the units when spectators can see and understand them make it less fun to watch. For example in the 29th nov video at 37:20, it would have been nice to watch the two big armies crash into each other even if the units were lagging a bit. I also noticed you use less the freecam during engagements, it's not crucial but it always gives a nice touch.
When you can adjust the distance they disappear I will but at the moment it cuts them out too early. I'd like to get more freecam action in but I can only do it when nothing is going on so I don't miss anything. That or when I get multiple viewports.
Hi .. nice cast on that giant moon ..fun to watch! in one of your older videos you mentioned you would like to cast a game on a metalplanet .. still waiting for that ! I think they are playable by now and look fantastic! keep it up
