how much mega bytes are consumed in a single PA match?

i am wondering how much MB are used in a single PA match, and what is the best internet specs to play online?
my internet speed is 250mbps(max)

Basically, it varies. The bigger the game, the more bandwidth you'll need. What sort of size game are you likely to play the most?

I have around 6meg down and 2 up.

When I bought the game about a month ago, I could very rarely play a game, as the connection was horrible.

Uber did a great many updates since then, and they have improved and optimised so much on the process, that currently I can easily play a 3-4 planet match against several AIs, the only time I experience a slowdown is when i let the AI reign supreme on a planet and it fills it with lots and lots of units.

my question is about online gameplay, not offline gameplay

Everything at the moment is online game play. You have to connect to the servers to play AI.

...ok. You asked about online game play (connection requirements). Thats exactly what Popededi told you. A game against the AI now, will be like a game against people at release (connection wise). You currently have to connect to the uber servers to play AI at the moment, as you will have to with people at release (unless you run on LAN).

It's actually more than enough for PA. Do you have limited bandwidth or why exactly you created this topic?

well yes, if limit is exceeded the connect will become terrible
i think the limit is 4 GB per month

This is sad. I'm not totally sure about current PA bandwidth usage, but most likely it's use at least 200-300MB of bandwidth per hour.

Somewhere they said they target ~1 mbps downstream per client after optimizations.

my uncle just confirmed to me that the limit is not 4GB , it is actually 15GB

Honestly, I've had this game for 3 days and I've played roughly 8 AI matches and 3 multiplayer matches running at 54mbps and its chewed through my bandwidth at stupid speeds! mostly as a game can last a very long time and you have 2-8 people average unless its a tournament. But still i think you would blow through that 15gig limit within days, maybe hours depending on the games you play.

you should have enough in my opinion though careful not to torrent!

There are still optimizations to come. 15gig however sounds like close to nothing these days. Even with 1 mbps you'll be through this relatively quickly. No alternative providers for you?
