The title says it all, i mean for the sweet mother of jesus, if the UI was any better I'd play day and night, its just so hard to navigate in my opinion, followed by everything so spread it, it doesnt feel very useful. Maybe group things together in more areas or create some animations or fast drop boxes. Just something to make it look nice, please.

The current UI is all temp. Uber is well aware of the big problem it has and they have stated (somewhere, I wont spent time with the search now, sorry) that they have a rework of lots of UI things in process. So expect that the UI will change a lot. :)
Until then I can recommend you to have a look at the mod forums. Especially mods like hotbuild that allow you to use the keyboard for most stuff make the ui a bit better right now.

The UI looks fine, it's an RTS. It would just be ridiculous if there were a lot of animations and sparkly bits in the UI.

I for one really like how simple it is and how it doesn't get in your face every time you click on a fabber or lab.

Which is something that irritates me about XTA in Spring.

The mod forums are in fact the place to supplement your UI.

It doesn't work miracles. It just adds to it.

There is also a compilation a user made there, of all the UI features we need. That is where the devs will go when they are ready to push the next UI.

In the end, those mods that change location of metal/energy bars and colors of ui will be the destiny of this game. Everyone will change their shapes and colors. Mine are all green. I have made counless different icons for people with complains about the current one, all in a moment's notice, all on paint.

I still feel you on this, but patience is key. Like a month of patience is a lot to ask, but it is what playing a beta consists of.

I have played many rts's all with usable UI's, like Starcraft 2, R.U.S.E, Wargame Airland Battle, Achron, Natural Selection 2, Tower Wars, and more, im not saying to have sparkly bits and animations overdone or added at all, im saying that i use the UI more than hotkeys, and right now the symbols on the right are confusing as hell. Also of course you dont want something getting in your face everytime a fabber or lab is done with something, its a mass scale rts, you'd be spammed to hell, i just want an easier interface

Perhaps a UI example would be the galactic war campaign video, i mean notice how its over viewing the whole system, yet every single circle or bit should be a piece of information that is actually useful.

Okay I see what you mean, but when it comes to the different symbols...well I never look at it. I use the keyboard so much more because I'm so used to playing TA, which in comparison, is just as bad. I've gotten used to the symbols that appear according to the keys I type.

But I do see how (after just playing a game to refresh my memory) the symbols can be super confusing.

TO be honest, the UI is actually beautiful as is.

There are improvements to be made sure, to improve up and add functionality etc.

    Current UI is WIP.
Uber has already told us an overhaul to the UI will be coming.

For other UI suggestions the community has made, check my sig :)

Yes, above this is the reference to Ui features that the devs will likely use.

Its a simple long list of features gathered by many users. If it is missing something make a suggestion.

The devs will try to put all of the requested into the controls. Then, it is STILL likely that every player will want their junk in different places or somethings hidden or prettyful colors, which is why the mod section will be full of decorative ui overlays.

I want one with a MLP theme. Would be willing to pay royalties to Hasbro. Those guys are alright by me anyway with all their great products.

Err.. I think we hope that that's what they'll put in. I don't think they've actually saod one way or the other whether they'll try or not. They were pretty clear on minimaps, but thats oft requested

They did mention supporting modding. They also posted in the mods section that a new dev is working on mod hooks so the ui has more information from the game to display.

Between those points, i made my post. Ui will have as much engine info as possible and they will have modders make the more user prefered overlays as far as info panel positions and designs of the borders and icons even.

Don't forget, Uber has to make a UI that anyone new to the game will learn with. Theirs needs to be very easy to get to grips with, whereas a modded UI can appeal to more advanced users.

I think it should be like texture packs in minecraft.

Everyone upgrades to something they personally like more, the very first chance they get.

I agree the basic one should function with all it's features. That is about all.

Exactly. There is no way everything on that list will be made by Uber out-of-box. They need to worry about new players too. The list is more like a complete list of all the dream features the more hardcore players want to see.

Where Uber ends off on that list is right where the modding community will pick up.

Looking through the mod sections, you have to download a mod manager and compile a list of the mods your downloading into a settings file, or you can download a mod to do the list for you, or you can just stick the mods into the real game files (editing the real game files with the mod's changes to the game files).

Takes some time to figure out how. If you need help, ask in the mod forum.

unblocked?! you mean you cant start it with admin rights?
You could edit the mod list file yourself as an alternative.
