i was expecting something lot more then this! perhaps next time dont use the term "BIG" update so loosely... as much as performance patches are awesome and all, its completely miss-leading, unless there is going to be another patch this week?

He didn't say big, he said bigger. As in, a bigger update than the last one.

Even so, any time you give someone an inch, they take a mile. when we hear "bigger" we seem to assume "new things to throw at each other" bigger.

because if you look closely at us, we are clearly CHOMPING AT THE BIT to get our hands on the unit cannon/interplanetary nukes/etc.

DO YOU NOT SEE US NIBBLING OUR DIGITS IN ANTICIPATION?

So could I make a mod that allows anti air units to shoot ground units? Assuming all players have the mod would it work through the server?

I guess I should just try it ;)

    Yes, you could.

It would have to be installed server side and the server has not been released yet.

Well yeah, many of us made too big of a conclusion from a minor hint and got carried away. We shouldn't really do that.

I think this new build still gives us some major things to play with, an I'm sure I'll still be having tons of fun.

    Indeed, in typical Fanboy fashion.

Because all those units in Raevn's list can now target the ocean floor and semi submerged units.

If you implemented this on Linux are there any reasons for not using it on other platforms? Or are you using SDL on other platforms, but it wasn't implemented on Linux?

I think it's less about fanboyism and more about simply being excited about the game and bringing the fight to the next level. As it stands it's becoming a bit predictable after some 35 hours of play for me.

Edit: And multiplayer isn't much of an option for me, as the play style needed there to succeed is not much fun for me. And I don't want ZaphodX raging at me ;)

This patch resets the graphical and UI options to their defaults.

With the recent changes, small planets will have a bit more metal on them than before. We will be adding per planet sliders for metal density soon. So you can make small moons or asteroids highly competitive as resource targets.

Exactly. Which was previously the situation where you had to build subs ?or the torpedo turret?.

The commander being invulnerable under water to everything except subs and fabber snipes is using the terrain to your advantage
