    This is a clear example of choosing my words more carefully.

    Last week:
    - We had a patch with 2 changes in it. That would be, by anyone's definition, a small patch.

    This week:
    - We're working on a post that has more than 2 changes, which would be a bigger patch.

    I will, in the future, not use words that can be conflated so much. ;-) Yes, it is a bigger patch than the one we put out last week, but whether it's a "big" patch or not, I'm still determining.

    Sorry, didn't mean to let this thread go on for five pages. I had a response I had started to write up when it first appeared, and it was still saved as a draft. Apparently, you need to hit upload_2013-11-25_13-29-35.png for it to be effective.

    Better to bring you to reality now then to have everyone complain that the patch wasn't what everyone hoped for.

    I don't know... Adding a singular unit would be a huge change.

    A small patch for the AI is huge for the players who play it.

    I'd been telling everyone that atm its like "random christmas day", only you don't know when gifts happen to be delivered.
    Now this is hard to cope with, I was pretty much about asking my boss to let me take some days off when the unitcannon and gates will finally arrive.

    But better to know it now than receiving the update and wondering where "everything" is...

    Things happen like this. Last update, nobody appreciates because you can't wrap gift wrap around a "fix to an existing thing", but it really did increase stability twofold.

    the update from neutrino just told us that we will probably get better mex placements.

    I'm also eager to see the new client and further UI changes. (don't know wheter it is in this update or not)
    And also: Alliances.

    It is one of the most important things in the game that we can easily achieve: competitiveness.

    Games not being decided by start location is nice.

    I had to generate planets like trillons of times before finding one with balanced metal.

    If planets generate like that more regularly, then we can play this game for srs a bit.

    Also, as far as UI and client, they said it is work in progress, and said "building on multiple fronts at once". That doesn't sound like "next update". That does sound like, down the line, it will come all at once.

    I'd prefer to have better balanced starting points, so that you don't have to check everytime
    "how much metalspots do you have" - "only 1" - "ok lets start over"

    Eh. I have no interest in Alliances. The Army game type is so awesome. We can be so much more effective through Army rather than Alliance due to delegation and more efficient team work.

    I hope alliances are a low priority – but that's just me.

    It's fine if you have friends and voice chat, but can be horrible if you play with random people on the pub.

    I never play with random people for army matches. Most randoms... aren't very good. I don't want to have them on my team be it Army or Alliance.

    Hit up the IRC chat. Lots of people willing to play teams and get on comms. Lots of good players on the IRC chat as well.

    Hmm, I read "mex" and thought you mean better placement of the metal extractors, automatically turning them if its still possible to build in some location for example...
