Like, every week appers a Thread saying about shields or Space Battle... I know that we need to search before post, but new guy don't do this... So and if we make a fixed-thread, w/ multi color and lights written: -Click on Me and then the message or when someone register on the forum and click on the PA forum receive a message.
We already have a sticky post telling people how to search and searching is already in the forum rules. Most people don't read sticky posts. Most of the people that create these duplicate threads create a new account and create their first thread right away with their ideas.
We also Had threads like the Confirmed Feature List and Topic Index Stickied already and I guess they didn't help much because they've been un-stickied for some reason. Mike
I think they were unstickied because they got outdated. Someone said something about them being outdated... Not sure.
Well the CFL wasn't, I had updated that a fair bit, still more to do of course but yeah, the Topic Index was older but still having plenty of useful threads within it. I still use it from time to time. Mike
Would a sticky with a link to the official wiki help? http://planetaryannihilation.gamepedia.com/Planetary_Annihilation_Wiki
Yeah, Knight had it pretty up to date. It's what gave me the idea to start tracking the UI stuff. Hoping to see that get pinned up again.
I agreed with you. New players dont now nothing about what we already talk ,or even iff there is a Confirmed Feature List and Topic Index Stickied. Iff you guys look on all 1 page on general discussion or beta discution ,the Confirmed Feature List and Topic Index Stickied isnt there,so how can new players now!
I think BradNicholson needs to get on that live stream tracking for the official website as well. The last one was on June 28th. I think knight has done a bang up job on not only keeping the streams organized for people but getting the questions transcribed out of the stream. I know there is a lot of social media to cover for Brad so i'm not hammering on the guy to much hopefully.
My work is The Live Stream Index for those wondering. I think we should be hammering at least a bit, I've been waiting on him for a reply to what's happened to my Stickies for 5 days now(sent Tuesday). Mike
For which I thank you, it definitely helped to set my expectations in the right direction. Honestly, every forum I ever visited/ran was like this. I did community stuff for a Nexus mod back in the day, and if it wasn't for the fact that I had loads of time to engage with people(because I didn't have anything better to do) I would have gone completely crazy. He is just one guy. Though having him alone running all the community stuff for Uber might not be such a brilliant idea, as there is a lot to cover. It would be great if he got a team, at least for the period before launch to generate the necessary buzz and hype. Currently all the hype generated by the game is on the merits of actual releases of new builds and slow additions and whatnot. Believe me, there is so so much headroom here to work with. Just throw people a bone every other day, some new screenshots on what's being worked on, a new trailer here and there, some interesting discussions occasionally initiated by the developers themselves. By doing this I managed to peak a fairly insignificant mod for an old and fairly unknown game to over a 1000 views/release on ModDB back in the day. When I joined there were about a dozen visits for a release. You just need throw people morsels and bits of new stuff, and they'll come back for more.
Any Admin should be able to really. Originally I'm pretty sure it was Garat that handled it but no clue who is actually working on it now it seems. Mike
