Can someone explain to me why they have tied your client performance to how fast your connection to the internet is? I thought my client was slow because its in beta but having just seen some videos on youtube with everyone playing at much better fps late into the game i don't think this is the case.. My client plays at 15 fps all the time and degrades ive only got a 2mb connection. Because i didn't realize that my pc is using up all my download speed just to play this game?? specs amd 6 core 3.2ghz 8gb ddr3 gtx760 2gb 50kb upload 300kb actual download Because im feeling right now i been sold i game that i can never play as they advertised can someone explain to me why i am getting terrible lag while everyone else it seems can play the game fine on low settings which is what im trying to do? btw not everyone can get a 40mb connection..
The fps should not be influenced by your network at all. When your network is too slow units should start to jump around and not move fluently anymore, but the fps wont change. However the fps and the network load are both obviously linked to how many units you have, so when you have many units your fps will drop and your units will start to move in jumps once your network is maxed. So these behaviors show often up together, but your fps is not linked to your network. 2mb is at the lower end of what they want to support in the end I think, I am not quite sure how far in optimization they are.
Okay but it don't explain why my game is very laggy at the start of the game while everyone else seems to be able to play the game at a half decent frame rate of at least 30 from the looks of it?
That's a good question. I am not that into analyzing these issues, so all I can say is that you might need to update your graphics drivers. Maybe someone else can help you more, they will probably ask you for a DxDiag, so better make one and attach it to your post.
Did you tried two workarounds I posted in your previous topics? PS: As Colin said FPS cannot be affected by bandwidth throttling.
i tried running the game at 1280x768 and that boosts the fps to 30fps on very low settings but that don't last. I uploaded my dxdiag if it helps
did you check this out.: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/uberprobe-performance-upload-thread.51144/ ?

As I said before check this thread: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/864980734977925162/ If you use Steam try to run PA though non-Steam launcher: https://store.uberent.com/Download/Install?titleId=4 Try to enable "Threaded Optimization" in Nvidia Control Panel. Post here about results.
I play on even less bandwidth than you and i play on pre-paid 3g internet at $12 per gig! I would like to help ease your mind to state that the game will have offline play when its released, the internet is only needed during the development phase. It also states you need a 2mb connection minimum for the alpha/beta test! <- that means it will use 200k+ minimum, not 200k at the most during gameplay.
Oh okay that's good news.. I have updated my drivers and i can now play the game at 1920x1080 on max settings at around 40-5ofps now with 2 planets.. Is that normal for the games current build? or is there still room for improvement on my end?
about normal i guess, it's hard to say as GPU power differs heaps between systems. 1920x1080 i get 12fps on my tablet pc, so wow 40-50fps is awesome.. lol
thanks for the help man : ) though i got one final question.. i built delta 5 engines but how do you smash planets because i can't see the option for it
When you have enough engines, when you zoom out to celestial view there is the planet icons, when all the engines are green next to the planet icon (you have built enough to move the planet) you can then click on the planet icon you want to kill then an "Annihilate" Button will appear in a menu beside that planet icon. Click the Annihilate button then click where you want the moon/asteroid to hit the planet and TADA your all set.
I got 9 of them on a small planet and i don't see the option in the planet box window were it lists them maybe i need more?
You can only put Halleys on small planets (under radius 350 I think?). In system view, any planet that can be moved will have a number of Halley icons under it (between 3 and 25). If it has no Halley icons, it can't be moved at all.
200~250 is the planet size range needed to hurl a small planet with three engines 250~400 needs 25 engines to move.
