We’ve got a wee bit of news to share, as you head into Saturday and Sunday. First up: if you’re not smashing planets this weekend, you’re doing it wrong. As of right now, we have finished blasting out beta invites to each and every one of our remaining pledgers and pre-orderers. (We take our pinky swears pretty seriously around here.) Thanks for your patience and all the kind words about the game. We love you and we’re stoked that you’re stoked about PA. If you didn’t get an invite go ahead and check your e-mail junk folders. And if you still can’t find it, give us a holler on our official support line. We’ll get it sorted out, no problem. Pinky swear. Second thing: we’ve just released a new update. This one’s got a small fix for the folks having start-up crash issue. Of equal importance, this update also has a hot new tutorial that’ll teach new users how the economy works, how to build structures and units, and how to navigate the game world. If you’ve ever wondered about a basic mechanic in the game, we got your back. Here it is, in all its video-y glory: We’ve got a lot more awesome coming on the horizon. (Stay tuned through next week, for example; hint, hint.) See you in the lobbies, Commanders.
NOTE for all ya'll wondering where your code is. A crucial part to receiving a beta code (and rewards) is finalizing your backer pledge with us. An order has to be finalized before it becomes visible in our account system. How do you do finalize? Just go to http://uberent.com/KS/FindMyPledge and enter the e-mail address you originally used with Kickstarter or Paypal to find your pledge. If it says it can't find an e-mail, you probably weren't an early backer.
I have yet to receive the two beta keys for the the 2 PAs I ordered on kickstarter back in the beginning and when I go to the findmypledge and input my email it says pledge found, I verify that I confirmed it but still no keys. When I click on my username and go to the settings page it shows my order of $40 for 2 keys. Am I missing something? Thanks!
I like but for panning around the map you gave bad advice. Use scroll in and out to go around the planet, it works muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better than either panning with click scroll wheel or keyboard pan.
You should see your key at https://store.uberent.com/Account/MyKeys. If not, please email support@uberent.com.
@BradNicholson you are a fantastic narrator. Send props to whoever made that video. That was extremely well done and must have been painstaking work gathering all those clips. Love it. Sharing it on my FB wall now
Nice, even though I already knew all this, I like tutorials that are quick and to the point. Lots of information, very little fluff. I hate looking up tutorials for minecraft mods and seeing that its 20+ minutes long and the guy just drones on and on. You guys did a nice job keeping it short and informative.
I do have one question about the tutorial video, and I apologise for being awkward. "Advanced factories construct more powerful attack units" - does this mean that we are going for a T1 < T2 type system in the core game after all? Not the General / Specialised? Or was this just gross over-simplification for the sake of the video?
I noticed that too... maybe just for the current balance and it will change later? Remember "tech vs spam" will always be present in a "Base-Building RTS". It's just a question of whether higher tier = more efficient units. As long as Tier 10 isn't more efficient than Tier 1, then the lower Tiers will always have their place through the early, mid and late game.
