In the Metal Planet, units get stuck all the time! really its very hard to play like this ! And Im not trying to move more than 10 units, they get stuck in the small corridors made by the cracks in the metal planet and start moving in circles forever. Even trying to individually moving each one does not work... somehow they become unresponsive. Does anyone experienced unit navigation problems ?
+1 to this. FYI, the pathing is fairly terrible for any unit on any planet. Having said that metal is worst, and the craters on moons are causing issues too.
Small metal planets are the worst. Large ones are at least playable but I once played a small metal map where most of us couldn't reach each other by ground. The last surviving enemy had his commander apparently stuck on a bridge in the open but nothing would fire at him. We had to nuke him to death to end it.
Yeah, still room for improvement here. But to be fair, previous Version were much worse. What I still get way too often are units stuck somewhere. This defeats the purpose of build orders at some point as Ive had it happen that a build team got stuck and vital stuff wasnt built. If your opponent isnt completely numb you can call it gg. So, back to keeping an eye on every fabber. Sometimes they just start to rub against each other in open terrain in a mildly disturbing way. Then there are armies splitting up, units getting permanently stuck on all kinds terrain features, ships taking questionable routes (rare now) and the overall pain of small metal planets. And whats a major navigation problem for me, even though its not about pathfinding, is the lack of formations. But as said, current state is quite useable compared to some earlier builds.
actually while metal planet multiply this issue because of the more numerous no-walk areas, this happens on every planet type, watch closely. Beta will be beta.
This just happened to me playing a game against an AI opponent. I assume the AI commander just spawned in a bad location and got stuck as it had not built any other units. Is the firefly supposed to 'stick' to other units like that? It seems that it stopped the AI commander from being able to defend itself. See the video below. When I moved the firefly unit, the AI commander attacked the firefly
Metal planets are to put it politely somewhat fucked at the moment. Uber needs to do some updating on this front.
