d3dx9_43.dll is missing. Cannot Play.

No matter how many times I install the game this file is missing and it will not let me launch.

Have you Verified the files using the verify button in the launcher?

I'm quite serious. Windows 8 makes installing directx without a disc a pain - it's done automatically via Windows update.

So if you've run windows update, you've reinstalled from disc, the next recommended solution is to reinstall Windows.

With Vista missing .dlls were a constant issue, and I never experienced any problems by downloading the missing .dlls

I had this problem a while back and I found that the solution was uninstalling skype and then reinstalling a previous version. I do not know why but skype interfered with this DLL.

I had this problem (Windows 8.1, amd64). I also had Skype ("Modern UI" version from store), and I actually solved problem by following instructions by Microsoft (kb179113; sorry, I can't post links yet). This approach is really preferable over googling for DLL because it allows to mitigate security risks (how much do you trust the site you find by googling?) and doesn't require touching other software. Probably Uber should document it somewhere.

It's faster way to break your system badly and get tons of spyware on your computer.

When you download it, run directx_Jun2010_redist.exe, unpack it to accessible place.
Then open directory where it's unpacked, find and run DXSETUP.exe

There's method to my madness.

If the first thing you do is Google "awesometrojantrollalolalol.dll missing", in some cases you'll find that it is in fact the result of some other spyware on your computer (there was one brilliant site I found that actually told you what the .dlls were).

Which is handy. You've just achieved an hour long antivirus scan in about 30 seconds.

Otherwise, among the first results are probably PCSupport.about.com. Which, you know. Tells you everything you would ever want to know about .dll errors.

Or, it takes you to a similar problem some other user has experienced. In some cases its because your installation file is totally failing, and you end up finding that the .dll is on your computer, just not where its supposed to be at all.

Both of the two examples above would list the correct places to find the relevant .dll (i.e. official sites)


Of course, there is the final case where there is no way you can find the .dll from an official site.

In any case, missing microsoft.dlls are so common that your best bet is to Google them and find out what there is to find out.

Download & install the last directx installer FROM MICROSOFT.com as suggested
or go to:
Control Panel (icons mode) -> Device Manager -> Display Adapter (right-click)->Properties -> Driver tab -> Update Driver...

Yes but have you ever seen another voip that does anywhere near as much as it. I've tried loadeds of voip's and there all shite, they don't mix the call with the game sound as well.

I am not going to lie. I do this. This however is a bad habit, it is an incomplete fix as you are giving your computer a file it knows not where it got from, and you have a large chance of getting viruses this way.

Actual problem it's not that. Probably is fact that downloaded library newer get registered in system. Most of Microsoft installers do never replace user-created files, it's mean when you update your system those modified files most likely won't be updated and you won't even get notice about that.

So it's faster way to break Windows and as result being required to try download more and more files lol.

Lol. I assumed that would not be the issue because the O.S. would overwrite the file during the next update. ah
