Just finished messing around with stuff in some AI games. The polish is really starting to come through, it's looking really great! Also, can someone clarify what the "modal" option does with the orbital overlay? because as far as i can tell at the moment, modal essentially means "off".
I'm guessing ai being able to build multiple mexes over a single metal spot is an intended side effect of ai trying to build over wreckage? Sorian, I thought you wanted an ai that won without cheats!
Can you give me proof? I would much rather see resurrection instead of the odd mechanic of building over wrecks.
I'm still seeing Basic Orbital Radar give no coverage, has been so for the last couple patches if I recall, anybody else?
Very Nice build, just had a quick game, units and commander are aiming a lot better now. Is it intentional that a fabber must move before reclaiming and building? Also noticed commanders and land units dont attack WL.Seafloor which means they cannot attack mex which are close to the shore. These are just minor things in an otherwise great update. Thanks.
This is something I would like see fixed, commanders being or not being able to fire from water. It really seems to make no sense when they can or not, sometimes this but sometimes... sometimes not this. The other game, the AI commander underwater sunk my ships, but my underwater commander couldn't shoot him even with sonar, nor could I shoot his mexes, nor could I shoot him once above water, though it didn't seem like he could shoot me either. Very ambiguous rules.
Modal for the orbital shell means it will only appear when you have an orbital unit selected. There was a bug where the shell would appear when you selected a commander, but that should be gone now.
Found two bugs in this build: Holkins doesn't target ships (I think that is a bug) and Umbrella doesn't shoot at all.
Oh, well no I don't think my opponent did. It was just weird seeing my orbital laser destroy an umbrella... I'm sorry if I misstated things.
If your opponent doesn't know you're there, and built an umbrella before building a deep space radar, that's not going to end well for your opponent.
Sorian said the AI is only capable of doing what players can do.... Time to start stacking mexes again!
I do think Umbrellas should come with their own direct line of sight into space. They are the only thing in the game that requires radar to fire and I find this to be rather counter-intuitive.
I might have missed this somewhere, but which commanders will be available later on then? And will the others be purchasable?

Well the progenitor commander is only for backers who pledged $50 or more, the Alpha and Delta commanders is only for backers who pledged $90 and more, custom commander is only for backers who pledged $1000 or more, and the Theta commander as for pre-orders and backers. Depending on what level if you are a kickstarter backer you would get those commanders. If you pre-ordered you get Theta commander and also if you pre-ordered cosmic digital edition or cosmic limited edition you get Delta commander. EDIT: Brain fart - added who gets the delta commander.
