The "best" RTS will be the one that favors player vs. player. This I can promise will be fact. This game has all the potential, but lacks the devotion! As a community we are headed in the wrong direction. As a community, we want better graphics, better commanders.

That has nothing to do with the potential of where this game could be headed. Imagine the champ of this glorious game making a quarter million in winnings!

Imagine that giving more funds to improve upon this scale, this strategy, this caliber of play, can take us to unknown level of heights on the strategic scale!

That would lead to the best game of "chess" ever created!

If you want to outsmart your opponent the only logical place to do it is within the realms of PA, because it dominates the RTS scene.

    This should be our goal!

One step at a time. I'm still waiting for a patch that improves gameplay to draw players back rather than drive even more away.

No, as a community, we want a better game. Including, but not limited to better graphics and commanders. There are also a lot of suggestions about balance, multiplayer, scale, etc. And the game already favors PvP - there is no singleplayer campaign.
Usually, when someone wins a lot of money in the game, those money are going in his wallet, not developers'.
...and? How do you want to achieve this goal?

The game is going to be "cartoony". Even if the graphics improve the units might look more real but they will still look cartoony.

I like that you are so exited and that you hope this game will make it big. But please use a bit less exitement and more arguments. It is hard to see the argument you are trying to make. When I first saw this topic I though you where trying to troll and ridicule the community. Your exitment hurts the point you are trying to make.

Next thread you make, please make your argument/statment and support it with solid arguments.

PS. Don't compare PA to chess. Chess might be strategic but is also boring like hell.

PA will never dominate the RTS scene cos Uber doesn't have the financial muscles it would take to comped with Blizzard's StarCraft. It doesn't matter whether we like StarCraft or not, it doesn't even matter whether StarCraft is actually a good game or not. The only thing that matters is that StarCraft matches are easier to cast and to what than PA games, therefore StarCraft matches will always have more viewers, more medial presence and ultimately will always have more players than PA. In addition to that, PA is a niche game, it started as one and probably will always be one.

Based on that Uber shouldn't aim to dominate the genre with PA cos that attempt is doomed to fail no matter what they try. So far, they made a good game us, for the fans of TA, SupCom and all the Spring games, but not for the masses. And thats entirely fine, if you have an audience stick to it, don't try to reach more and more people if that means you have to screw with the recipe that made your game successful so far.

I'm not saying that PvP isn't important, but aiming for eSports is. You can't enforce a competitive scene or eSports, it has to happen naturally. You have to create the game you and your community wants, if that leads to eSports it's great, if not don't cry about it.

I would rather PA become a champion of PvE RTS rather then PvP.

    But it's all personal preference.

To my inexperienced eyes, I can't see how StarCraft II is any more interesting than this game is/could be. Indeed, at the moment I enjoy watching the casted matches by ZaphodX etc. more than I enjoy playing (and that's not to slight the game).
I'm not saying this game is obviously better than StarCraft II (because I don't know, and how could you possibly be a more popular RTS than SC II..., I'm just trying to understand why you say it so poor in comparison?

And I'm CERTAIN that I would prefer to watch planets smashing into one another, than whatever it is SCII offers.

No it CAN, just make and show everyone this:
    https://forums.uberent.com/threads/can-your-rts-do-this.52907/
P.S. SC is a RTT, if someone say that this is a RTS, he is a Casual Gamer.

Please don't push your pet definitions onto other people. This forum can be quite pathetic at times with its constant need to belittle Starcraft 2. The Real Time Tactics genre denotes games such as Rome: Total War.

I actually like the cartoony graphics. They serve two purposes:
    1. You can identify units quickly easily. A prime example of a game where is this hard is supcom where they did what you said.
    2. It allows to save on the graphics load therefore allowing more PC's to run the game.

Is a Question of Micro and Macro, if you don't want to say that SC2 is a RTT, so say that it is a Micro RTS.
    P.S. I am Aeon.

The thing is, you can macro in starcraft, just because it is ever so common to have SC2 as pure micro game, there is plenty of PA macro to be had.

    Watch this is...

    Lorewise, SC2 should be epic....
But gameplay mechanics and the intentionally crippled UI just kills that sense of scale.
    Such a shame.
