I've done that all already, doesn't make a difference.

Really? I don't see how this would help.

Once again, I don't see how this would help. The problem's not on my side, the update is what broke it for me.

This wouldn't help, there is something wrong with AMD 4XXX cards.

    Please do that:
    1. Check instructions in comments of PA#2639
    2. Follow instructions try to gather PA log (.txt file) and crash dump (.dmp file).
    3. Post both files + your DxDiag.txt to PA#2638.

Can you please check do you have crash dump name in your game logs?
It's looks like there is no crash dumps in your logs and this is weird.

Also please try to open this directory:
    C:\Users\ YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME \AppData\Local\Temp\
And then check if there new .dmp file appear when you run PA.

I'm not sure if you're still talking to ms SXX, but as you pointed out theres no .dmp files corresponding to that crash.

So there is no *.dmp in your "Temp" directory?

Theres no mention of a .dmp in the log and the .dmp's that are in the temp folder are much older than today, so I don't see how they could be generated by the crash i just had a moment ago?

    Log attached for your verification.

Do you think that's because it's crashing even before the game is loading (almost immediately after you click the Play button)?

Actually there always should be crash dump, even if game crashed before OpenGL info (GL_VENDOR, etc) appear in log.

Not sure if this crash related to Coherent (probably not), but can you try to run PA with "--software-ui" flag?
Just wonder if it's related to Coherent somehow.

I just posted in the Bug Tracker thread (FS#2638) Im having the same issue. PA up to date, files verified, drivers up to date, PA crashes almost immediately after starting. No dump file created. Have ATI Rade0n HD 4300/4500 on windows 7 64bit.

SXX: "Not sure if this crash related to Coherent (probably not), but can you try to run PA with "--software-ui" flag?

Assuming I did this right (running "PA.exe --software-ui" from command prompt while in the PA folder) it still crashes right after startup, same windows error, same no dump file created.
(this is the info in the windows crash box:

I will try to get some more info later and post my log txt stuff. Since there is 1 guy with a bit lower number than 4850: Could it be the new version uses different graphics stuff not supported by cards 4850 and older? (like newer pixel shader stuff)? (but that probably should not trigger already before starting menu? and only be used ingame later)

As I know PA doesn't use anything newer than OpenGL 3.1, so it's not likely there is any new features used. Problem is AMD Legacy drivers. They abandon support for those cards quite long time ago and as result there is much more issues with them
