My planetary annhilation folder is somewhere else, but in the folder there is no crash logs but i did find this, the coherent AI Log 3992 06:01:20.370468 W | PID: 5648 | 1404 06:01:19.785667 Shared textures are not properly supported on Windows 7 without Service Pack 1. Please install the latest service pack.

I'm guessing he installed the latest service pack just by how that was the last thing he got instructed to do (by the error log) but yeah, he should probably clarify it.
seeing as i got a new hardrive, no updates were installed for windows, one of the service packs which i needed to run the cohrent AI thing or the game just crashed on startup, also i downloaded the CMD things which also fixed the graphics ingame
And also, i am so angry right now xD the laptop i had problems with just crashed and its not working, BUT i am on a computer now and the game is having no problems from the start, so its just working without installing anything
laptops can be a pain with gaming sometimes. Usually there is a work around for most games. I find that 9/10 issues are manufacturers crippling the operating system with crap software and patches making it difficult to update drivers sometimes.
