Intel HD 4000 HDR test pic's on my system with my current drivers. (DxDiag file attached in previous post for reference)
I was having a private discussion with a developer so it is relevent! Also read the title of the thread. then look at who liked the post with those pictures.
Also the title of the thread is "For Varrak" because the thread was for him to view! Why did you feel the need to pop in and say your piece ?? Do have you any point to prove?? if so go ahead and say it, please make your point.
For Varrak!!! Update of the failing shader list as of build v5.56821 Attached PA Log file I will also post more screenshots of the new HDR as of build v.56821 .. It's impressive HDR now works perfectly on the INTEL HD 4000 chipset, only thing needed now is some luminance to the nanite sprays to make them glow when the HDR is on or the emitter stream looks very matte/dark green, maybe the same is needed for the green overlay of a unit or building when in construction too, as it also looks very matte/dark green when HDR is on.
It's actually quite strange that HDR work this way for you. I'm still need to remove GL_EXT_gpu_shader4 dependency for open source drivers on Linux, but HDR working like a charm for me in 56821. You're not in skype, so I'll post it here. Can you try those shaders from attachment? I just guess that HDR not works properly for you because part of shaders it's linked with are quite broken.
For Varrak!! SXX and i worked on fixing shaders for Ivy Bridge chipsets. Here is PA log file (cleanest one i have ever seen come from my acer tablet) And a zip with the fixed shaders. 0 fails now and everything functions as intended. (well im assuming it does as i have no refrence to test against for HDR color difference comparison or brightness comparison). If you can upload me a pic of the dark side of a planet from a dev's pc so i have a static refrence to see how far off color and brightness is.
You guys rule. Thanks for doing this - it's really helpful. I've pulled down the shaders and will take a look. I'm actually planning on changing the way we handle shaders a little, so we can (hopefully) avoid these kinds of problems in the future - and also support more advanced features on GPUs that support them. I'll keep you guys posted.
Can you post your DxDiag for me, And can you delete all the PA log files in the log file directory, run the game once then post me that log file it generates.
The HDR effect is much more subtle now, with a lot less visible exposure change between lighter and darker. If HDR is functional, you should see blooming on the edges of bright objects. Can you confirm if you're seeing any of that at all?
ill check this evening. but even if its more subtle, it would be a hundred times more subtle for me than for the screenshots posted in this thread xD
When you try again, can you upload a screenshot of the sun behind a planet, similar to my 3rd and 4th screenshots in this thread. Also if the HDR doesn't look right can you upload the DxDiag.txt and PA log file for us, and while the dev's are busy i'll see if i can see why yours is failing or looking like it isn't functioning properly. Also let me know what settings you use in the in game graphics settings menu
