hi, i think that the transporter you get from the space assembly should ye able to load before it lifts off..to use a crane or something to put the acu inside it..then pick a destination where to go, like the moon. i find it very ridicolous for that thing to first launch off into space then come back down to pick acu up then go back into space for so to fly away..alot of unecessary micro. when you first have launched it it should stay in orbit until given some else orders..if you decide to land it down on the planet it should not be able to get back up because of lack of fuel or something.
Well the current implementations is clearly not the intended implemented, as we see what Uber intended with the Visualization. Admittedly it's hard to say if Uber's plans for this have changed since then, they've been very quite about anything orbital compared to everything else. Mike
If its going to be a one way trip then you better be certain that your target destination is a safe place to land...
Well barring the obvious solution of including the option to scout some way(my favorite is a combination of cheaper orbital over all, disallowing satellites to move between planets freely and the option to select a different planet from where the Satellite is being launched from) you'll also hopefully have teh option of not being required to send your commander first. There could be an option for a cheaper 1 shot rocket that could carry 3 units and then a more expensive conventional transport maybe?
If they go with the one-way trip method, which I hope they do, the rocket could just get the satellite/lander to the other planet's orbital layer. Then the lander detaches and can fly freely on that planet as an aircraft. Also if there's eventually an orbital factory, maybe it could be allowed to build single-use rockets for existing satellites?
