Mega feature perhaps?

    Hi! i have an idea for a cool feature, not for the release but maybe in some future dlc, until now we have been delighted with all the game has to offer, the planet smashing, the unis, etc... but my ideia consists of this, for the very late game, only for the most hard working players, a unit, or building, that is so expensive that is almost ridiculous to build, but when built it would "send" your commander into a spaceship or something that would take him out of the solar system, and then the sun would implode into a black hole, or it would explode into a super nova, making it an instant victory, for multiplayer games this feature could be turned on or off. What do you say?

    Welcome to the forums! I think this idea has been talked about in the past actually (a black hole bomb that swiftly ends the game for everyone) and I think it was shot down rather quickly, it wasn't a popular idea.

    oh ok... I think it would make a cool feature, the first to make that supernova would win of course, but as i said earlier, it would cost a gargantuan quantity of resources, well if people dont like it i will just have to learn and live with it.

    People don't really want a "I win the game instantly" button in the game. It negates the idea of using strategy to win.

    There should never be an uncounterable way to win. Counter nukes with antinukes. Counter unit spam with turtle. Counter turtle with nukes. Counter halleys with invasion of the halley moon. Let me just state something here: Build time should not be a counter in and of itself, it should only help to give other hard counters time to work.

    This as been discussed. But different game modes have to wait till be have a more "game" to implament them.

    You could make a system with an astroid on a collision course to the planet. Might be easier then a supernova.

    Something like:
    You must travel form planet A to B to C -> into the Gate to escape
    Planet A will be destroyed in 5 min, Steal neutral unit cannon, go to Planet B.
    Planet B will be destroyed in 10 min, Get a transport, go to Planet C
    Planet C will be destroyed in 15 min, Repair and use Gate -> Victroy.

    Do a search before posting. This has been discussed several times.

    It was also shot down several times because instant win features do not make for exciting gameplay.

    It also didn't make sense from a science/lore standpoint.

    Sorry if this has already been posted. As i said earlier, this would be a feature that could be turned on or off in the game setup, it could also be implemented as dlc, people who didnt like the ideia would not buy it, and it would not be an instant win button, as i said it would be almost counter productive to build, so if you did try, you would be vulnerable because of the time and resources that had to be diverted to create the supernova. If it was implemented like that i think it would be fairly ballanced

    It is an instant win button, because once you launch it you win(Or lose because everyone's dead). It defeats the purpose of strategic fighting if you can just turtle and build this huge thing that will kill everyone.
