Odd Bug

When I try to load up my games the planets end up like this. The units are also invisible. I've updated my graphic cards and tried messing with the video settings so I have no idea what is happening here. I'm trying this before I use a support ticket so if you can provide any support I would very much appreciate it. (Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section as I am new to these forums)

Are other people getting this or is it just me? Please answer as I would hate to have wasted $60 on game I cannot play.

I think someone mentioned turning HDR off will fix that?

I'm curious about why you're talking about units. You're in the system editor, there are no units there. In order to actually play a game, you must choose the Join Game or New Game in the main menu. You cannot play the game through the system editor.

Although, that darkness bug is an interesting one.

Try turning off HDR.

You also haven't wasted $60. The game is in beta and is riddled with bugs. Bugs like this will get fixed.

So I should ask, why are you talking about the units being invisible? Is that a different bug that you're running into in gameplay?

I had played multiplayer earlier with a couple of friends and when they had spawned I could not see their units, nor could I create or see any of mine.

I have had Hdr off the entire time... hmm

anothe bug, If you have to reconnect, you will load things back in progressively, and a lot of models will never load.

best to never reconnect.

to avoid having to do this, when in a host, only hit "ready" when the little loading dot is green.

So that should fix the blackness, or just the units? Because I have a funny feeling if I fixed the blackness, it would also allow me to see my units. And I have noted that thing about the green dot.

Ok here it is...

You are on the same planet as your friends? Sometimes your commander spawns on the actual starting planet, but it gives you the option of selecting a starting location on the wrong planet.

Then you can't see anything, and the commander hotkey won't work, because it returns the x,y coordinates of your commander on the first planet, as applied to the second planet.

(That's just an example of how it works)

Um well I my friends said they could see my commander so... I don't think I spawned wrong and that doesn't help with the blackness issue. But thanks anyway!

Your commander doesn't spawn wrong, your camera spawns wrong. Your camera spawns on the wrong planet, while your commander spawns on the right planet. Your friends can see your commander, because they are on the right planet. You can't see your commander, because you and him aren't on the same planet.

When you centre the camera on your commander, and tell him to build a building, nothing happens because the camera centred on your commanders location, but on the wrong planet, and you've told him to build the building on the wrong planet (Which he can't get to)

It doesn't help with the blackness issue. But if you zoom out and change planets, you could find that your units are perfectly visible and happy on the other world.

Yes, it's what's you need.

My computer crashed... and it now says I don't have a driver and the highest resolution I can go to is 1400x1050 instead of 1920x1440

You can always install outdated drivers from Asus website:
https://www.asus.com/Desktops/Essentio_CG1330/#support
But for PA you need to get latest drivers works.

You can try fix it that way:

1. Remove existing driver using AMD Catalyst Un-install Utility:
   http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx
   
2. Restart.
3. Then try to install latest Catalyst again.
