    - Spherical planets.
    - Multi-planet battlefields.
    - 1 Million Units.

    This is not a tradition 2D RTS.
    A traditional UI won't not be enough.
    The UI needs to be smarter.

    Here's what I was thinking...
    1. Complete documenting all these suggestions. (done)

    2. Organize them all. (done)

    3. Have community review them. Make revisions if we must. (Will people do this?)

    4. Put these to graphics (I have already started a mock-up)

    5. Have community give vote on their top 10 requested. (Got a website we can use?)

    6. Have the modders flag what they need from Uber.

    7. Have majority ratify document (50%?).

    8. Present to Uber as a unified group.


    Uber is probably working on the GUI as we speak.
    I am not sure if they what everybody is expecting from the UI.




    I tried to catch all the major UI requests.
    Please let me know if I missed any big ones.

    You could use a survey site for 5). I use surveymonkey, it works very well imo.

    Having the page images pasted into this forum is very render intensive ( at least for me and my desktop graphics card). Can you just provide the link? and have the page you want a vote on shown with a status update?


    Also I think you should mention in your other thread at the very top that you're are moving it to this Thread.

    As a suggestion to the UI minimap.

    For the minimap, can it be a rendered globe that rotates independently of the large screen as it pans(poles locked) around the planet in question. It wouldn't show fine details but it would be a zoomed out view of the planet rotating.

I've got nothing against anything in the list, just dowright bluffing! in a certain sence, @Culverin (not post count (which doesn't help anyone) or mods (which are awesome, but there's other good deeds to be done) or technical help (which is also awesome but still I'm talking about something else)) you've been our community's most active member.

    time to all get prolific and voice how we want the game to be!

    The system editor can be further developed. My suggestions:
    First: Most people just add a planet and randomly place around the sun, but others (like me) use the INPUT dialog box on the right, choosing carefuly X and Y positions. I would like to have a second option of input: Radius ('r') and Angle ('theta', in degrees).

    Second: add a simulation time.
    When you click on the Simulate buttom at the top of the system editor, the planets start running around the sun, but you know that in game they won't running be that fast. So my idea is to add a simulation time, to correlate the simulation with the real in-game time, so the owner of the system can know at what time planets collide and at what time is the minimum distance between planet A and planet B

    For the chrono cam, I think it would be interesting to add some marks on the timeline, like a skull with player's color to sign at what time a player with that color died, or a nuke symbol to know at what time a nuclear bomb detonated. This makes the game review easier, when you just want to know these highlights

    I could really use Idol engineer indicators. I feel lost without them.

    There's a hotkey to find idle fabricators.

    I can't remember what the keybind is.

    I bet'cha there will be idol engineer indicators as time goes on.

    really? I looked around and the system editor was empty, and then I checked the celestial view and there is something slightly different from what I have suggested. What is written says specifically about planet collisions, and the developers will think about the collisions started by halley, not natural orbits collision. And I didn't find my first suggestion in the list, lol

    I think this thread is a great idea, even though we probably could describe what we want with way less words: SupCom FAF UI.

    It only works for idle land fabricators though. Plus it doesn't pick up engineers who are assisting another engineer who is idle. It also doesn't pick up engineers whose orders cannot be completed (because they boxed themselves in) So we really need an idle engineer indicator and an indicator for engineers who can't move.

    Very good points. Those are some very important bugs that need to be fixed. I wasn't aware of some of those.

    Either way, beta is beta and they're working on it.
