Hello Everyone, I'm having lots of FPS issues when I play PA. I know its beta but i see people playing with low end notebooks that have better FPS than me. I already tried everything in the stickied fps thread. Even the custom shaders. My configuration: Planetary Annihilation on steam. <- Already tried disabling steam overlay no noticible effect. Windows 8 Pro 64bit Intel Sandybridge i7 2600 OC @ 4.0Ghz Gtx 560 OC @ 915 Mhz core clock 16GB Ram Dual 1080p monitors. Internet = 200/200 stable pings to amsterdam of 3ms. I live 100km away. I am currently running everything ingame on low and I'm getting 10-30fps all the time at the beginning of a You VS AI game. Even on systems with 1 planet. I hope a PA developer can look into my issues Kind Regards, waxdt
Maxpowerz, Thanks for your blazing fast reply! I will try your suggestion. I guess that fix still works on current beta? Kind Regards, waxdt
im not sure if it still works but it worth a test, and i only wish you could enjoy the game like i do, and i will help in as many ways as possible so you can enjoy it too
Does your mainboard have an embedded "Intel HD 4000 GPU" i noticed you posted it was a sandybridge board. Im playing the game AWESOMELY on an Acer Icona Tablet with an Intel HD 4000, if all else fails and we cant get it to run on your GTX, as a last resort to get you into an ENJOYABLE game, would you try disabling your Kicka$$ videocard and try playing the game on the crappy onbaord GPU (you will need to download some uptodate drivers for it)
I believe the resources bar mod might have fixed my FPS issues. I'm getting about 60FPS now when I am zoomed in a bit. I'm going to do some testing and see if it stays this way. Thanks alot anyway
Although I am still at the lowest settings with everything disabled. If I turn everything up I am at 2FPS. Although I am not sure. I am prety confident that my gtx 560 should run this game at high settings just fine...
try playing the game after setting your desktop to 1280x720 or 1366x768 (there both good 16:9 ratios) @ 1920x1080 i get 11fps @ 1280x720 i get the 25-35fps and 60 fps when i zoom out
I just adjusted some settings and I'm getting playable framerates now. Ill try a multiplayer game and see how it holds up during the match.
Im running PA on a GTX 560 TI and it is working fine with all settings cranked when I play AI and all medium when I play multiplayer. 1600x1050. Also check your res scaling. That is technically your aliasing settings. At "0" you are rendering at regular res. If you are doing 2x you are rendering at double res and scaling down to the screen res etc etc. I find shadows the most intense setting in the list though.
