Seriously no idea. But you can check those two, both from official website and with WHQL: http://www2.ati.com/DriverS/13-4_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc_whql.exe http://www2.ati.com/DriverS/13-1_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe Also, you don't have any non-standard options in driver settings? E.g some overclocking or so?
Isn't 13.9 the newest WHQL? http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDCatalyst13-9WINReleaseNotes.aspx
Probably it's time to create bug report. Can you check if drivers timeout happen each time when game crash?
Its not the drivers that crash every time, its like 50/50 whether its PA.exe not responding or the driver crashing and restarting.
Anyway it's will be better if there will be proper bugreport. If you can find a moment when PA crash (not driver) and create task with log, crash dump, dxdiag and link to this topic. I doubt it game bug, but anyway this need to be tracked somehow and bugtracker is better place for such things. (because this thread most likely will be spammed with problems of somebody else )
I got 16 gb 1866mhz hyper x. Its on stock values and timings currently. Its not that old either, about 6 months and I've done plenty of tests on it. I think I'm gonna roll back to even earlier drivers tomoz and try a few other things. Will do SXX, I'll do it tomorrow.
So SXX. I may have a few hours today to get to the bottom of this crash, do you have any tips to help identify it? Bearing in mind that we have tried quite a bit already.
I uninstalled the game and installed it on to my SSD, I built a new system, 5 body mostly small. Changed the commander type, selected only one A.I. to play against. Waited in the lobby for the game to load, then when I got in to the game, it just crashed straight away! Attached is a screenie of the error im getting every time. I'm not sure what else to try, all I know is, since the last patch, I have not been able to play a whole game all the way to the end! I've never had this problem before the last patch.. Edit: I also disabled steam community, didn't make a difference. Going to download Uber`s launcher and try to see if it's any different through that, not holding my breath tho.
I did that before and it caused problems. (same reason) Once I enabled the page file again, it was able to run okay.
Really? Whats a good (safe) number for page filing on SSD's then as I heard it can wear n tear em down quite quickly. Also, will it make games such as bf4 and the like perform worse if it defaults to SSD/HDD RAM before my physical RAM?? I haven't fiddled with page filing since I re-installed windows 6 months ago... Ive never had problems with PA until now...
