PA Theta Commander

Does this mean if you dont preorder that you wont have certain commanders even if you buy the game at retail? If each commander has abilities will that unbalance the game since people who buy the game at retail wont have these commanders? Will Uber somehow give people who buy at retail a chance to get these commanders?
Looking at the uber store I only see theta commander for preordering & then if you get cosmic edition you get Delta Commander.

Long Answer;

First off, if you have access to the Backer's Lounge, Read this thread instead, it's much more indepth. If you've pre-ordered and don't have access you should PM Garat to get that fixed up.

Anyways, here is the short version of what we know so far based on talks with Neutrino back when the Delta was the new kid on the block.

All abilities will be part of the same pool. Think of it this way, there are 8 Abilities, A-H.

Alpha might have A+D
Progenitor might have B+G
Delta might have D+F
My Custom Commander might Have C+E


Ability D is the same for Both Alpha and Delta, or any other Commander that uses it. Along with that it meas that over time as we get more and more Commanders, depending on the size of the Ability Pool, some of those commanders will share teh same abilities as other commanders.

Whether the differences stop with Abilities, we don't know yet thought it seems likely.

So Pivo, Right At release, Commanders like the Alpha, Progenitor, Theta and Delta might have Unique Ability Combinations, but the ability themselves won't be unique to those Commanders.

I forgot the Delta was limited to cosmic edition... I guess I should Increase my playtime using that commander.

I hope eventually the commanders can be earned, not as easy as completing your first match but serious time logging.

Some of the Commanders will be early backers only.

Delta isn't limited to only Cosmic Edition, from the Uber store page:

Available only to the Cosmic Limited Edition pre-orders, and to early backers at the $90+ reward tiers, the Delta was the first fully realized commander to be unveiled to the world

Man, wish I knew about this game during the kick starter. I only just knew about PA in February.

Seems a bit pricy now to even get a delta commander.

I wonder what this new com everyone who preordered or currently has access will be! I really like the alpha sad I wont be using it after beta is over =( But hope they give us a bunch to use
