Just wanted to say I'm impressed with the current Uber settings. I just flicked them all to Uber and played a match just a moment ago. Seriously though.. what an improvement on the shadows and shaders. It kind of reminds me of the scene in transformers dark side of the moon. This scene was basically everywhere I looked. The planet smashing animation is also pretty steller. I wish there would be a shock wave that would surround the planet and show the buildings collapse with it. In time I guess that might come but I don't know. Considering there is a lot of shadows, it would be nice to see lights from buildings turn on when night time comes on a planet. It was a little laggy for me but I must say.. its pretty narly seeing the improvement since the start of Beta. Keep up the good work!
I think the shadows are a little excessive right now, but I'm sure HDR will be tweaked as they go on.
I hate when the planet goes dark it's hard to see units..hopefully they fix that and I turn shadows off it's distracting..
yeah i agree, the sun flys by so damn fast, I hope that will definitely get tweaked as the game progresses, and yeah the dark places on planets are way too dark, it blooms up if your at the max zoom-in distance, that needs to be tweaked.... The shadows are awesome, perhaps a little over done just a tad, but agree with OP, massive improvement and makes a big difference to everything, all the bases will be lit up at night time, as well as all the units as well eventually, just not implemented yet... I think it would be cool if you had the ability to change the colour of base lights whenever their in the game...
Uber has stated they have lots of work to do with the dark side of the planet. We don't know exactly what they'll be doing, but they want to make it so the dark side of the planet actually effects gameplay.
I can absolutly agree that the planet rotation is to fast... Yes it is cool to see day and night and would be cool to see battles truly magnify the Darkness of a moon with bursts of light from bots shooting each other and lasers illuminating the war field. while day time has a different feel to it as well. Not quite set on what Daytime warfare would look like but I would like to see the burning trees and Craters smoking of shots fired. I think a 25% reduction in planet rotation speed would be appreciated. It sort of has a majority vote on these forums.
Hey there, bit of a bump, some kind of small illumination on structures and units would be great. Night comes and I lose a sense of where I left everything. Even very low level 'LED' type emissions from certain parts of your forces would be visual markers -- not interfering with the potential Dark Side of the Moon gameplay that I'm reading about here. I would like having the sun reflecting on other planets so that when the sun goes down, we are still likely to be illuminated by other planets
