Hello, Not sure if this has been posted or not...searched and I didn't find anything so here I am. I am new to the beta and was trying it out. I've noticed whenever I try to click on a unit or a building in the game, the screen flickers and sometimes shows my desktop for a split second then goes back to the game. Generally it does not recognize that the unit has been clicked and I have to click multiple times in order for to register...meaning the screen flickers a lot. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks for the help in advanced!
Thanks, don't see anything strange here. Can you say what settings you using? Do you have anti-aliasing and HDR enabled? Can you try to play in windowed mode and check if there same behavior, ok?
It almost sounds like something is causing the game to switch focus when you click. You don't by chance have one of the new Microsoft mice with a windows button on it do you?
Hey, so I tried switching it to windowed mode and it still does the same thing. Its strange that it does this even outside of the actual game, when i'm just clicking on menu options and what not. I don't have one of the new microsoft mice (razor naga). It might be caused by my laptop graphics card...i'm not sure to be honest.
I also noticed that each time I click in windowed mode the program title at the top temporarily says not responding for a quick second in the menus of the game.
Can you try forcing PA to be run in on discrete graphics? If you find the PA.exe rather than the launcher and right click on it there should be an option for forcing discrete or integrated graphics.
So I forced it to use my nvidia card and it still is doing the flickering issue. I could try a clean reformat on my computer. Not sure if that would help though. Thoughts?
I don't think it's solution for your problem, I sure it's will be even more helpful if you might make some video with this glitch and upload it on youtube for example, so in future it's will be easier to understand if any other person have same behavior. Also let's check what video card game actually use. Run game in windowed more, then open this directory: C:\Users\ YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME \AppData\Local\UberEntertainment\Planetary Annihilation\log\ There will be log files, upload them to this topic, just to be sure that game actually running on Nvidia card.
Just another thought of mine, could it have something do to with running it in steam? Not sure how I would go about getting a stand alone copy without repurchasing but just a thought.
PS: Also your log looks totally okay, game using discrete video card: Code: [08:16:01.328] INFO GL_VENDOR: NVIDIA Corporation [08:16:01.328] INFO GL_RENDERER: GeForce GTX 670MX/PCIe/SSE2 [08:16:01.328] INFO GL_VERSION: 4.4.0 [08:16:01.328] INFO GL_SHADING_LANGUAGE_VERSION: 4.40 NVIDIA via Cg compiler Screen capture software it's not something I can help with, but there definitely were few topics about that. You can also PM any person who make streams about that. As long as I know you can save video just fine with OBS (at least some versions working great for PA): http://obsproject.com/ Actually there was some problems with Steam Overlay, but never like your. Can you try to right click on PA in Steam library -> Properties -> uncheck "enable Steam Community In-game". Also you don't need to repurchase game to use non-Steam version, just get Uber Launcher from here: https://store.uberent.com/Download/Install?titleId=4
Alright so I uninstalled it on steam and installed it using the launcher. That did not work either. I then ran it in windows 7 compatibility mode and that seemed to solve the problem. Not sure why but it is working now...
