How long does it take to smash a planet?

    Built up on an asteroid - got everything engaged and it was moving... but honestly after 20 minutes I got bored and gave up on it. I would think that some time is warranted to plan an escape if the other players choose to, but 30+ minutes for it to happen is a bit silly. I would think 5-10 is more reasonable.

    Has anybody actually waited through to see how long it takes? Really curious.

    we've all done it a buch, I'd say and hour with a relatively close 3-engine moon if you're not trying to set a record and have done other things such as fighting back on the land, nvay and air front on the original planet.

    I think he is talking about asteroid travel time, once thrusters are engaged.
    Which I think differs between solar system set-ups. If there is an asteroid in orbit close by to the planet you want to smash, it doesn't take 30+ minutets. But if it is on the other side of the galaxy, then yeah, you'll need to wait a bit longer.

    I don't get it, it always takes longer to get to the asteroid, why'd he leave at the best part?

    Well, after 20+ minutes it was still SOOOOO far away from hitting the target.

    Seemed like it was never going to happen...

    Do additional boosters actually speed it up?

    There's a bug in the game right now. I've run into it too.

    If you select "Annihilate" on the far side of a planet, the moon can't catch up with the planet to smash it. In the future game, the astroid/moon will have to loop around the sun to smash into the planet – as Uber has demonstrated in a previous livestream.

    So for now, just make sure to click "Annihilate" on the planet that is directly below the moon and that will work.

    no no currently, though that will be implemented I still gthink you got impatient becausee earlyer when you were sending your engie/com to the moon the game wasn't over and there was still alot to do to make sure you had eco to build with when you got there so you didn't feel time go by. but as soon as you lit up the engines you were like "game over" in your head and sat back and watched wich is the wrong thing to do because you whent from being hype and active to being inactive and waiting wich would make all the weight of time fall back on you.

    also the method to send in asteroid is 1. zoom out to celestial view 2. select moon with sufficient engines a red button appears, click it 3. zoom in to desired planet right click the ground 4. click the red engage button that appears.

    it is possible you had not engaged the moon.

    also OBVIOUSLY journeys from one place to another will always take different amounts of time due to the fact the planets are rotating at different speeds and they will be at different distances from each other especialy depending on how different their orbits and speeds are (meaning you'd have to loop around the sun a couple times to pick up speed) and how far they are.

    in the system editor you must be carefull when making a system. there are two zoom levels if you zoom in enough, a second much smaller grid appears then the bigger grid you have when you zoom completely out.
    you can place your entire system within one square of the bigger grid, zoom in and work zoomed in. the distances are already huge that way, trust me.

    It would be nice if you could see the ETA till impact. This also goes for build time for buildings and move order for units.
