I was playing the most intense 3 way FFA of my life and all my units stopped moving. I thought it was my internet, but that's working. And now I can't re-connect to UberNet. Anyone else having this issue?
I have one question for you as OS X user: did you get proper connection lost after units stopped moving? On Linux previous versions of game never disconnect properly: FS#1639 Just interested if there same behavior on OS X.
Units just stopped moving. So it looks like the same behavior. I restarted PA several times and that didn't work. It wouldn't connect to UberNet. It just sat there indefinitely tying to connect to UberNet. I then restarted my computer and when I re-booted steam – steam updates. So I wonder if the issue was steam screwing things up. Man... Real mad about that. I was in the middle of an awesome 3 way FFA. Got ganged up on... nuked... lost my base two times... and I think I was close to pulling off a win. Ugh. Oh well. Time for a new match!
I was in that game too, got about one update from the serever every two or three seconds once the action started. Before that, around 2 per second. So yeah, not exactly smooth playing. Almost like a round base game. The other guy threw various flying things at me too, so we all got some. Your end was a multi nuke, tripple or quad I think. Your tanks kept attacking and moving in constantly and you where displayed as beeing in game, up until the point the nukes hit and your com exploded. And no, you wouldnt have won . I had 2 or 3 more missiles beeing prepared, so less than a minute after the first wave it would have been over. Later on I had to octo nuke and bombsnipe the third player. He actually was close to a win, hats off to him. If you read this: Well played dude.
Thanks, it'w will be interesting if you can try to artificially reproduce disconnect in game with AI.
Hm... Well. I don't know what caused the original crash... but let me try force quitting steam and see what that does to my gameplay. I'll also try unplugging my modem and see what happens there.
Force quitting steam didn't mess with gameplay. Interestingly. So not sure what caused the previous crash since I don't think my internet went down. When I unplugged my modem, all the units froze. After about... 20 seconds – I got a "disconnected black screen" and it went to the main menu. In the match I had the issue with I did not get that error, but maybe I didn't wait long enough. I was in the middle of an intense match so I tried to reconnect as soon as the issue arose. What was the weirdest about the previous match was not being able to re-connect to Ubernet. After re-booting my modem, I was not given the option to reconnect to the AI match. Any other info you need?
Third time I've lost connection like this. Every time I lose connection to UberNet, I don't get an option to re-connect. Was about to demolish this really annoying turtle.
