I've played a few FFA games against AI so far this new patch to test planet smashing and while me smashing planets is working just fine the AI is very disappointing. In the latest patch it was stated that : AIs build defenses AIs should make better use of advanced fabbers / advanced factories AIs can build defenses in expansion bases AIs can build advanced mexes None of this is happening for me in any of the games I've played on many different terrains (planet types). At first I thought the AI commander was getting stuck so I would destroy the factory he was standing on but he just rebuilds it. AI are now building bots and sending out waves of T1 bots to assault my base, which they weren't doing in last patch but they will not build T2 of any type. Otherwise the game is looking great, you all have really made great strides recently. Keep up the good work! ~Gad
I have had the AI hit me with t2 bots before, so it's definitely able to do it, though it's probably still gonna have lotsa cases where it gets stuck/ messes up. It'll progressively get better with more and more patches.
Its not "broken" its "in development". You dont look at a half made car and say its broken, so dont look at a half made AI and say its broken!
I've had the AI launch armies of a couple hundred bots at me and the next game build nothing but air. I think they currently have a ground and air AI and you just get a random one, don't quote me though.
This has been my experience as well. The AI doesn't handle failed pathfinding either, so if they get stuck they sometimes just halt in their tracks
Thanks to everyone that posted useless comments about how my phrase broken was wrong or reminding me that it's a work in progress. I understand all these things, I know what beta means. This thread was simply to post my experience to the admins which is the role of us as beta testers. Happy planet smashing everyone!
