I like all those PA videos, but 45+ minutes games don't deserve 45+minutes videos from just one POV. I've decided not to watch those anymore, especially since youtube removed the x2 play-speed option (it was kind of hidden anyway). Especially since games aren't exactly of the pro-level exciting type right now. Why not use ChronoCam to make: a) A faster recording / a shorter video (say about 10-20 minutes max) b) - Optional - Show the best slices with dynamic camera effects c) - Optional - Show parallel evolutions of players The few videos using it on Youtube are quite entertaining. I believe CC is massively underused right now.
What them on 2x speed if you think they are too long. Chrono cam is not meant for speeding up a game, at least that was not its intent.
That wasn't its intent, but is a nice bonus. A few of videos on PA Matches are posted in this way. They were recorded after the match with the chrono cam at 2x or 4x speed. Makes the video go faster and the viewers have full vision. The downside is you know who wins.
you won't be missed. watching those videos can be tough or enjoyable, it all depends on the watcher. Starcraft II matches are never abreaviated. but on a realistic level, have you tryied it? if you had maybe you'd realise why it's not used. currently you can't watch games that you have not participated in. So if you were to cast through chronocam, you'd scrap it and couldn't feel engaged because it would be the second time you'd be seeing it. The real isssue comes now; currently chrono cam requires all the ressources of a game in it's final stages (you probably know how laggy and unresponsive it can get) and then some. it's technically not doable, the lag would be unbearable, especially for the watchers.
