In TA when you had insufficient resources to build at full power, the nanolathes would switch off and on and generally stutter. This is a great visual aid to tell the player he's doing it wrong, and it was notable by its absence in SupCom. Will we be seeing a return of this effect in PA?
Actually it's will be interesting if we might re-configure effects on the fly, so when production is slow down "fab spray" effect emitter spawn less particles.
Perhaps even a visual representation of the type of stall; e.g. Metal stall causes a brightening but weaker-looking nanolathe. Energy stall causes stutters and some sort of flashing animation?
What would be cool is as soon as your metal/energy starts falling they can kick into "overdrive" because of being strained production. While this is happening the metal or power gens should glow a hint of red like there running to hard and about to "melt down." and along with this maybe this overdrive gives a very small income boost to try to save your eco from stalling, but should only last a few seconds (maybe 10-15) until you figure out what the heck is going on. This would be a pretty cool effect, at least I think so....
This is already implented. Look at your fabbers when you are not stalling - you have bright and thick nanolathe. When your economy is stalled then you have less nanoparticles and it seems a bit darker due to that.
I am actually pretty sure it at least WAS implemented at some point. Maybe it broke? I dont check that often how it looks exactly.
It is most definitely implemented. When your economy is stalling (hard) your stream of nanolathe particles thins out. Fewer particles get emitted. I watched it happen over the weekend when I nuked my opponent's T2 power field. The factories went from 'gushing' to 'trickling'.
I thought about this already at the beginning of Alpha and just assumed that it would be implemented later, but when you say SupCom never had it worries me that maybe they won't implement it here, even though this is more of a TA game. So yes, please Uber, bring back this visual aid! Edit: or if you already implemented it, make it more visible =)
At the moment, it's only really noticeable if you are stalling really quite hard. I'm sure it could be tweaked if needed.
