Hi all, I am loving the game so far, so much to learn in terms of strategy! However, it is making it increasingly hard to compete with the computer as I cannot see the deposit spots on my computer, therefore, I have to move the mouse around the planet randomly until the extractor turns green. I am assuming that it is a texture issue. I have searched google and these forums for my problem to no avail, hence this post. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would most appreciate it. Systems specs: OS X 10.9 (13A584) 16GB Ram 3.4 ghz i7 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB Thanks.
If there some OS X users who met this issue please vote for FS#2363 And post your hardware details in comments to this bug.
Why not make the metal itself glossy and shiny? Icons are kind of a hacky solution for a major element that should be more visible regardless of the setting. Even TA had ways to make deposits more visible, by using shadows, cracks, and putting "borders" whenever grey touched grey.
Maybe when he select a worker and select the metal extractor, it would show the white building layout everywhere on metal spots, just like you where holding it over a metal spot or something?. Its definitely hard to see metal spots, and you shouldn have to play in orbit view to see them. Maybe if metal spots was bigger, i mean does the extractor need to cover them fully?, if metal spots was twice the size of now. you place it right in the center? If they was a bit sparkly or shiny that would also help catch the eye. It just feels like you have to move mouse around, i do exactly the same, even worse in water. i cant even see them at all there, unless their are near shore.
OS X users have other problem: they don't see features (rocks, metal spots, trees) at all. It's some bug with shaders.
Nice idea. +1 to it I'd still probably cntl+n at the beginning of every game and keep it that way because metal spots are important for defending and attacking. So I like to know where they are because they effect my strategies.
