So, whenever I login, a box pops up saying "Incoming Transmission". This box looks like it's supposed to display a video and then let me into the game. However, nothing ever comes up in the box, and the little blue button on the top right, that looks like it should close the box, does nothing. This also happens if I click the big "Early Access Beta Release" button before logging in. Note that this is my first time actually trying to play the game, so this is not a regression AFAIK. My guess is that there's supposed to be a youtube video that plays, and that it's breaking since I don't have flash player installed (since flash is no longer supported on Linux). This is just a guess, however, since the console doesn't seem to give any relevant details. I have attached a screenshot of the issue, and the full console log. Actually this video shouldn't require flash to load. What distribution you using? Also why you using a bit old drivers?
The distro I'm running is Kubuntu 13.04 (the KDE version of Ubuntu). Specifically, I'm running the 64 bit version, though I do have various 32 bit libraries installed for compatibility with various other games. As for the drivers, I'm just using the "nvidia-current" package, which seems to work fine for everything else I've tried to run. The only other packages listed are for Nvidia driver versions 310 and 313. I can try those if you think it will help, or, if needed, I can get the drivers straight from the nvidia site (which lists 319.60 as the latest version at the moment).
This game don't have any bins, so it's doesn't mater at all. This actually will be useful if you try other version of drivers from repository. Also if you don't have it can you install 64-bit Chrome/Chromium and check HTML5 video playback on youtube? You can as well try latest driver from this PPA: https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/ archive/ppa
Html5 videos seem to work fine in chrome. I checked, and it is the 64 bit version of chrome that's on here, so that seems fine on that end. Running PA with the 313 nvidia drivers (the latest in the official Ubuntu repository) worked the same as when running the "nvidia-current" (304) drivers. The 331 drivers from the xorg-edgers repository just displayed a black window, though the proper PA cursor did follow the mouse when it was in the window. Pretty strange, interesting if somebody else have same problem with Nvidia drivers. Actually if you just want to bypass problem edit this file: media/ui/alpha/start/start.html Find "startYoutubeVideoSequence" and remove/comment everything related to video.
