I have played a couple of matches against an AI. I wanted to settle on other planets but right now its too cumbersome and takes too much resources. Flying between planets should be more accessible. To be honest, I tried but still dont understand how it works. I build the launchpad and then the lander, saw some smoke going up and then down but could not find any lander.

Too make it more accessible I suggest to introduce a special building for this task. When the building is finished the units can be loaded and launched to another planet. This way the resources can be scaled down without scaling down the resources needed for the orbital units. Maybe some sort of "recharging" could be introduced before the lander is launched based on the number of units loaded.

What you guys think? How many matches ended up on other planets?

After the orbital transport launches ,zoom out till you can see a lot of the planet and then pan so the orbital Launchpad is on the left or right side of your screen , you can see the transports icon then in orbit around the planet,
select the transport then press "L" or click the load icon on the UI, then click the unit you want to pick up (only 1 at a time) then go to the other planet by scrolling out till you see the solar system, put mouse over intended target and scroll in. then Right click on the surface where you want the orbital to go (don't click unload until the transport has left the orbit of the starting planet or it wont leave orbit!).
once transport and the unit its holding gets to intended target planet or asteroid , select the unload icon then "Left Click" the drop point..
not too sure why this is left click and everything else is right click but yeah ,, it works :)

AI doesn't leave the planet at the moment, but it is still fun to leave it behind and crush it with an asteriod.

also to smash a planet up you will need to make a "custom system" it will need
1 planet (any size and biome, this will be your starting ground so its good to generate a nice one)
1 moon (size under 300 raduis) anything over 300 raduis can't be shifted with halley's i think.

don't add any more than 5 items to a system or it wont load well on the server or you may have issues!!.
i have made 6 to 9 planet systems and they can work sometimes but not well, and the game LAGS HEAPS.

once you make your system with planet and small moons, you can then load it when you start a match,
AI always starts on same planet whichever one you choose.

The amount of halley's (Delta V Engines) needed to move the moon will be shown on the UI when you zoom out to see the solar system when playing the game.

Also "YES" it is awkward to use orbital units at this point in the BETA, but it's being worked on furiously, i have seen a few improvements over the last few builds/patches.

yes orbital is expensive and also not meant for 1v1. More feasible in large player matches. But I understand learning the ropes against ai that's how I always test everything new as well!

I try to prevent the enemy from leaving my planet at all costs. I want him stuck on the same planet as I, so he has to deal with me. In the games I've played 80% of them do not leave the initial planet, but it depends heavily on the number of people playing and planet size.

    Also, sweet profile pic

I'm pretty sure the max size is <350. It requires 25 Halleys though.
