I know this has been around for awhile now but my problem doesn't always happen though... So I dont really know whats going on or if its even related to any other issues that have been posted before...... Basically sometimes in the system editor, no matter what size, biome or height level I'm at, or size of planet that seems to affect it at all..... And then just a simple restart of PA and all is great using the exact same planet details.. nothing is changed except restarting... Changing shadow quality, any graphic settings didn't affect this at all... it just happens sometimes... This also happened on newer drivers also
Think he answered this to you in the other thread! Quote: "the new drivers turn my machine off.... and the new drivers have certain features disabled from nvidia... for some reason they've botched up a lot of the newer drivers from nvidia.. doing a copy of what radeon have done with their drivers over the past few years... quite ironic actually but thats why... I'll do a new thread seems its not related to OSX about my problem got screens as well"
vackillers, I have this same issue, but not only in the editor. I see texture pop-in and the weird carbon-fiber squares in the middle of games. It's never a game ender, but can be quite annoying. I am using up-to-date drivers as well.
I also have a small case of the black hash textures, But im sure its normal because it sorts itself out pretty rapidly.
yeeep sure did.... one other thing to note on newer drivers, their only really catered for the new 7 series graphics cards right now anyway, I have GTX 560 tis, something in there obviously not compatible with 5 series, same thing has happened with a friend whos using a GTX 660 also.... machine just completely randomly shuts itself off... kinda weird, something to do with how the driver does the TDP or something.
I'm using the very last Beta drivers from nvidia (Very last official did not help neither) and i'm having the exact same issue as the one reported in picture n°1, in game, but it's transient : While zooming out the issue will occure and then one second later, black textures are fullfilled with correct textures. This had occure a long time ago in alpha and had been fixed. Exactly since beginning of Beta the issue is re-occuring. having this on GTX660TI 2gigs
Hmm,im having the same issue as DOUD except im on AMD and I am too on the latest beta drivers .Not getting texture pop in in game though, only in editor as far as I know.
well hopefully there is a fix for this then. Not sure if its driver related, it does seem like it is though, normally when you get bad graphic textures like this its nearly always a driver issue... gfx card isn't overheating either just thought I'd throw that in there too
I have the same issue only my one is always there no matter what i do and i have no idea why, Ive updated the drivers and everything but my planets are always black with patches of random colors but water and lava always show up. Even when you look closely the black is even under the bodies of water when you look through it. Its really annoying in game because i cant find metal deposits and see other things properly.
