I was wondering how many people have this happen to them. Scenario : match is under way, fights going on all fine then TOTAL FREEZE! Trying to pinpoint what is causing it or if this is somehow just on my end or if it is caused by a server desync. Stay on topic please, thank you.
I had that happen in the last game I played. I waited awhile and then it said something along the lines of "Scenario ended going back to the main menu".
Darnit I thought it would attach to my profile once I uploaded it, on notebook now so will upload it later.
I have experienced this problem as well. The UI freezes, but the game continues to run. Luckily my team mate was able to take control of my commander. I didn't get any cool planet smashing effect just this giant hole in the planet. :/
Few questions: do you run game though Steam? Do you expirience long loading time? Your system and drivers are okay. If you really mean that you have crash/frezee in-game it's most likely issue of limited memory. Next time you met it please check memory usage of PA.exe.
I have the same issue. I can't be in a game for more than 10 minutes before it freezes with a white screen and crashes to desktop. I can sometimes rejoin the game I crash out of, but half the time my buildings will have disappeared. On top of this, I see little black squares around all the terrain textures. Just updated my graphics card drivers tonight and nothing was fixed. dxdiag.txt attached.
Do you have anisotropic filtering forced in Catalyst Control Panel? It's reason of this problem. Try to download and install "Latest Beta Driver" from AMD site: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/legacy/Pages/legacy-radeonaiw-vista64.aspx It's reported as decrease number of crashes.
You want upgrade it's for PA or? I can give only two advice: Don't buy SLI or dual GPUc cards like GTX 690, HD 7990. Wait before new AMD GPU's appear on market, prices on other GPU's will go down a bit. If you can better wait before new consoles are released, when it's happen there will be even more cheap GPUs.
Not sure if this the same kind of freeze, but I was just playing a game and after selecting my anti nuke launcher as it was making a missile, my UI froze. I couldn't do anything, but had to watch as enemies tore apart my base! It happened just at the moment I needed to start defending too rrgh! I could only exit the game through ctrl alt del too. If you could fix the UI freezing uber that would be great. Really enjoying the beta otherwise though
It's not freeze, it's crash. When it's happen next time try to close game windows and then run it again, after login you'll able to reconnect.
thanks SXX, I don't have any plans to buy any of the next gen. I'll wait a bit. mostly PA FT2 Portal 2 and a few other games.
Whats your preference, NVIDIA or AMD My suggestion would be HD 7950.A excellent card by amd in the £200 price range.Price may vary if you live outside of the UK.
I don't interested in any consoles at all, but they are good because they decrease market demand on video cards and dramatically decrease prices.
