[This is a cross-post of sorts. Expect others to chime in specifically here, though, to some of your comments, questions, or feedback.] Wow! Thanks for all the kind words and stories you've shared with us and others over the last couple of days. It's humbling and inspiring to hear about your intense matches with battles spanning multiple worlds. We especially like the planet smashing parts -- every time a celestial body goes boom, an Uber Entertainment programmer, engineer, producer, or a designer smiles. We can tell that the majority of you are having a blast. But, there's also folks out there experiencing technical issues. And just so you know, we're fully committed to hammering problems out. In fact, we'll be patching the game on the reg until we have the majority of the biggest issues resolved. What'll be in these patches? Optimizations for the most part. We'll lower start-up game times and sort out other memory performance problems. Also, we'll be fixing the advanced metal extractor bug, as well as continuously tweaking unit pathfinding and planet smashing effects. Over the next week, you'll probably notice a smoother, far faster, and more intense experience. Your feedback and ideas are always welcome, by the way. Keep hitting up our general and Backers-only message boards. Also, if you're having a major technical issue feel free to e-mail our support line. The e-mail address is support [at] uberent [dot] com. If you already threw an email to support or hit us up with a message on Kickstarter about an issue, please know that we're working on it. Expect us to get back to you in the next day or two. Also, make sure you've finalized if you haven't already! Here are our FAQs. Once again: welcome to beta. We're stoked to have you, and we're going to keep making it a better and better experience. Now, go blow up some planets up! Have fun!
Wait a minute! Are you not the guy who streams himself using a certain oversized bug, that sorian has yet to squash, to smash moons into planets! On another note, its nice to get some updates =)
I'm believe in patches a lot, there is much more people with broken game than was for all alpha time.
Basically we added a TON of stuff and destabilized the game. It will get better Overall our immediate goal is stabilization and performance. However, we do have enough people on the team that we'll be continuing to add features. Expect a crazy kind of a ride between now and release. I was going to start summarizing a bunch of stuff we need to fix but it would take a long time to type it out.
I understand, but I mostly mean Steam-related issues. They're so weird so I don't even understand how to get feedback on them. E.g this issue of EmpireUnion which only happen in Steam version: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/0/864980277977196502/#p2 Or other issue: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/i-cant-get-the-game-to-launch-run-on-steam.52018/ Not sure if it's fixed or not yet. I just thinking we need some proper way to handle such weird issues.
It's great to have this sort of interaction with the devs. I Just want to thank you for putting the time and care into this game, as is evident. I know what betas are like, so I'm used to the bugs. Your ambitions with this game are incredible. I'm curious, will you be pushing for any sort of attention from e-sports after release?
Will this game play more like the speed of ta or sup com? I always felt like ta game play was a bit faster compared to sup com..I hated how slow sup com was but it mainly felt that way on the bigger maps which to me were not as fun..
Good to know that you guys can spread the team and still be able to add the features while stabilizing the game. I haven't been bugged, by the bugs , but many players have had difficult experiences with the game and writing about it on the forums. I'm glad their voices have been answered, and looking forward to see how much a preformance inscrease there will be in the new future. Biggest performance for me have been load times and I'm glad they've been brought up to one of the forefront issues being addressed. But I'm more interested in what you guys are going to add soon. New Units? Effects? Burning trees? WHAT IS IT!!!!@
I was pleasantly surprised when I started a 1v1 with 2 size 2 volcanic planets and had it load in mere seconds. Thanks guys! Keep it up!
For 1v1 I can load up that quick, 2v2 about 5 times longer, sometimes a bit more....and any 5+ player game or game with 5+ planets just crashes before it loads or within 5 mins of playing Ill just stick to 2v2 or less for now Thanks for the update and the great game so far!
