To start, I'm not the best player in the world, so it may be my lack of game knowledge that's causing this problem rather than any balancing issue.

That being said, it seems the only way to beat a big T2 air army, is to have a bigger T2 air army. Otherwise, it feels like I just can't beat the bombers on the ground, because all of our current AA options aren't that strong, comparatively. That, or they just build a bunch of T2 bombers, and because I can't kill them all fast enough, they suicide run on my commander, and win that way.

Do any of you feel the same way?

I've had no problem with them other then if i send an army out without aa or fighter protection as that area dmg is quite harmful but they are T2 so its understandable. I've had a mix of 50 T1 and T2 bombers sent at my com and lived i had some aa and a decent amount of fighters also made sure that i had some engi's repair my Com so i was not threatened at all :)

I do agree that it feels like that game is lacking several forms of T2 AA. Air-power currently (at least to me) seems like the be-all-end-all of units.

Just wait until the full unit set is finished, then you can complain.

But still, they could just add a placeholder and treat it as an advanced AA

In addition to waiting for more units to deal with them, T2 bombers themselves are likely to change. Currently their bombs are basically homing missiles, where as they should eventually be changed to dropped dumb-fire bombs. This won't likely reduce their effectiveness against structures, but it could mean they have a harder time against units. Of course if they are carpet bombing then it could mean the opposite; structures only take a percentage of the spread, whilst a group of units are more vulnerable.

I haven't played alot so far but so far it seemed to me that air is mainly OP because there's a lack of a good AA (especially if you compare that there is a lvl 2 ground laser tower but no AA tower).

Which brings the question. Why are laser towers restricted to ground units and buildings? There's no fundamental reason not to. There are laser weapons under development right now that are capable of targeting aircraft and missiles. I'd post a link but the forum won't let me.

Turrets stopped shooting air with the same patch that disabled tanks to shoot air. Bombers are actually a little bit more viable now.

T1 air turrents hit both ground and air and i see them everywhere now :) they are a good anti raid and do good dmg vs air if you have 50 fighters or so you'll stop almost any bombing run unless you let them build up to long

The easiest solution is to dedicate a couple of air plants to producing T1 fighters. It's a fairly low-cost investment compared to spamming turrets everywhere. especially since only 1 T2 bomb is needed to take out such a turret.
