I apologize if this has come up already, but is there any rough idea on the time frame these will start being created? I don't check the forums very often and I'm worried I'll miss something. Will these backers receive an email or something? I think I heard something a while ago about it happening during the beta but I can't really remember. Again, sorry if this has been asked before. I tried searching for threads that would answer this but I couldn't find anything.
Backers shall be notified when rewards are ready to go out, one good reason is to confirm shipping addresses and such before sending anything off. One of the devs said this recently somewhere on the forums in response to the question. Either way they're working hard on the game build itself right now, so I'd just keep an eye on your email and not expect it to happen too soon. Probably near the end of beta maybe? I doubt earlier.
Which doesn't really effect the Custom Commander reward, so that's kinda odd. Anyways, OP I'm waiting just as eagerly as you are, but keep a few things in mind; 1] They are still fleshing out their Commander Creation Process, they've only made 2 "release quality" commanders thus far and have at least 2 more to do in order to account for all the Concepts they've shared. Refining this process is very important because they have over 100 EXTRA commanders they have to design on top of all the stock commanders they want to do. 2] There is still the concept of Commander Abilities that needs to be explored and refined so that we can define our commanders and their abilities while knowing exactly(or as close as possible) what our options are. 3] There is still the potential that we might not get the 1K Commanders until after release, it's not ideal but it's a possibility we need to keep in mind. Luckily as they finish fleshing out the unit roster they'll be able to shift over to doing commanders I'd imagine. 4] Honestly we don't know much about the process they are planning at all really so it's really hard to say what they are thinking in terms of timing to be honest. I just meant more that they probably shouldn't worry cause they should notify the backers in question directly. Like it'd be pretty weird if it was only mentioned in a random thread(or even a dedicated thread) on the forum and if you missed it then too bad
I don't mind waiting, as long as I don't somehow miss it. A time frame would be nice of course, but I understand it's not a cut and dry process.
I belive we were told that the custom commanders will be created after release. However im not certain.
Unfortunately i cant find were i heard this, im even starting to doubt it was someone from Uber who said it, thats why i admit that im not certain about it.
That's what I was told a while ago too (after release, slowly), c'est la vie, they'll get round to it... I'm much rather have the finished game, then get good at the finished game before my customer commander gets tainted with battlefield failure anyway
Who said it and where was it? Like I said, it'd be news to me and the chances of my not having seen such a timbit here on the forums are small to say the least. Mike
