Is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong. Capsule picks up Commander or fabber then after I click on target planet, the capsule glides along surface of original planet and never enters into orbit. Anyone else have this problem??

I had the opposite problem. My com got picked up and put into orbit then never wanted to come back down. Good defense I suppose...

Hmm... Try zooming in on the target planet and right clicking the ground. If you're just clicking the planet, it may not be issuing the move command.

I've killed several commanders in orbit with orbital defenders. :p

Try pressing the L key, or using the S.Move icon then left clicking on the planet to get your com down. You may have to fiddle with it. :)

If it's stuck in space (i.e. not technically in the orbital shell of the planet) then you truly are stuck. :(

That's what I meant. Orbiting the sun, missing the SOI of any planet. The capsule kept orbiting the sun, going in and out of the surface of the sun without ever responding to movement orders.

    Invincible!

Also a bug, you probably want to enter that into the bug tracker.

This has happened to me before... :(
Knowing a thing or two about orbital mechanics (KSP has taught me well), this may be because the target planet is too close to the sun.

The way PA handles interplanetary transfers is by slingshot-ing around the sun. This method doesn't work when planets are really close to the sun, and apparently makes your commander feel like going tanning by flying through the interior of the sun.

Thanks guys. Your info helped. My brain wasn't seeing the S.Move icon. It was there but I wasn't using it. LOL Now all I have to do is find an opponent that won't drop out of the game before I reach the next planet!
