I am new to the forum and just got the beta so please et me know if this is not the correct place for this question. Trying to run the latest beta for the first time. Two computers and both are freezing and closing the program at the same point. The screen changes to black after pressing play and then a few sec later force close stopped working. Laptop Core 2 duo T7250 Dual geforce 8600M in sli with 512 mb Windows 7 64 4 Gb of ram Desktop Intel core 2 6600 2.4ghz 8 gb ram Dual sli nvida geforce 7950 gt windows 7 64bit Any ideas?
What Mike said, check my signature for instructions. Also disable SLI, it's will cause issues for PA.
I don't know if this is the same problem as the OP, but the game crashes on me as soon as I attempt to zoom in after starting the game. Attached is my dxdiag.txt
guy with the 2011 drivers, krckhdsgnrl, please try to update your graphic and sound drivers. Find what graphics and audio you have, and google them for updates. Someone else can help you better, but this game eats up older drivers for some unknown reason.
This is for the desktop Also I tried to run both laptop and desktop in and out of sli mod and same thing.
You haven't updated your graphics drivers since February, start with that and turn off SLI, it's not supported yet last I heard. Mike
Most likely you'll need to install generic drivers from AMD website: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonmob_win7-64.aspx First try to download and run "AMD Mobility Radeon™ Driver Verification Tool". If it's give you drivers to install just use them. If it's say that your hardware isn't compatible you need do that: Backup important information from laptop. Download and install "Latest Beta Driver" from same page. Usually generic drivers don't cause any problems, but I'm recommend back backups anyway.
Probably GT 7950 is too old and not compatible with this game. I can check it if you download glewinfo.exe and run it. It's should create glewinfo.txt file, upload it on forum and I'll check it. 8600M actually should have required features, but it's just too slow to run this game.
I find it hard to believe that it will work on a much older laptop and not a better desktop. The video cards on the desktop currently run games like the newest star craft with no problems. This is much fast then my laptop. Please let me know what you find out from the glew file. Thanks
laptop works now after updating graphics driver and the small patch you guys send out. One of them fixed it. Know if I can only get the desktop working
I have the same issue, actually. I was able to run the first Beta interim, but not the second. Then I was able to run the third patch, and now this patch has made the game crash in the same way -- where Pa.exe just stops working when I start up the game. Like always, I've tried a verify files, deleting the PA folder and reinstalling it, and shutting down the PC and starting it back up again. PA standalone launcher, by the way.
I am also having issues, I tried to run the standard amd updater, it failed, I then tried the beta and it had issues as well. I attached the text file. Thanks for the help!
Yep this is your problem with dekstop: Code: GL_VERSION_3_0: MISSING GT 7950 doesn't support OpenGL 3.0 and game won't work without it.
First try to update your drivers: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_win8-64.aspx Then try to run PA.exe as administrator, seems like there is some issue with this on Windows 8.
Well I hope everything else is good and ready for the game. I have a new redeon hd 7790 on its way that should run it really nicely I would think.
